Job Description

The Director, High Volume Talent Acquisition will lead the team responsible for hiring the people who directly interact with our customers across Stores, Supply Chain and Customer Care. This role will collaborate closely across these areas to attract amazing talent, create a great candidate experience and ultimately hire talented individuals to be part of the Nordstrom team.  

The role will be responsible for ensuring there is a pipeline of high-quality talent to meet our business needs while also driving hiring efficiencies and leading transformational efforts as we modernize our recruiting tools and candidate experience. To be successful, you must be a dynamic, curious and resourceful leader with a strong sense of ownership and a “solutions-oriented” approach. You learn quickly and have a track record of delivering business results. 

A day in the life...

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy to hire high-performing leaders and hourly employees across multiple locations and parts of the business. 
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes for seasonal hiring cycles twice a year to meet peak business demands. 
  • Lead the implementation of new talent acquisition technology, ensuring seamless integration into operations and delivering intended business outcomes. 
  • Champion change management practices, engaging stakeholders and driving adoption of technological and process improvements. 
  • Build and mentor a high-performing talent acquisition team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. 
  • Build collaborative relationships and partner effectively with a variety of stakeholders and partners from across the HR function and the business to anticipate needs and align hiring strategies and outcomes.  
  • Monitor and analyze recruitment metrics, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with company standards. Apply a data-driven approach to measuring the effectiveness of programs, thoughtfully iterating to drive results. 
  • Partner with HR leadership to align workforce planning and organizational development efforts. 
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and bring innovative ideas to enhance talent acquisition strategies and processes. 
  • Play an active role as a leader within the Nordstrom HR community, strengthening the business acumen and analytical knowledge of the HR organization at all levels. 

You own this if you have… 

  • 10+ years of experience in progressively increasing Human Resources leadership roles with at least 3 years of leadership experience 
  • Demonstrated success in recruiting transformations and innovative system implementations to streamline processes, elevate the candidate experience and deliver business outcomes 
  • Exceptional ability to manage high-volume recruitment and seasonal workforce ramp-ups 
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams in dynamic environments 
  • Proficiency with data and data tools with demonstrated ability to translate and summarize complex data into understandable, actionable information, and recommendations 
  • Ability to build strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders and partners throughout the organization, at all levels 
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to use metrics to drive strategic improvements 
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with cross-functional teams and stakeholders 
  • Deep understanding of the hourly workforce landscape and trends in talent acquisition 
  • Knowledge and understanding of state and federal employment laws, hiring policies, and best practices  
  • Retail or supply chain industry experience a plus

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Seattle: $150,000.00 - $245,000.00 AnnuallyThis position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more.
