Roles and Responsibilities:
We have a fast-growing team of dedicated consultants with deep experience from working both within the industry and consulting. Successful candidates should expect a diverse range of complex and strategic engagements across the Insurance market. As we continue to expand our client base and expertise, we are looking for individuals to join our team to support our growth journey. Please see below an outline of the responsibilities of the role as well as the requirements.
As a Director, you will be responsible for:
- Independently managing complex, high-impact client engagements from project design through delivery, ensuring strong client satisfaction
- Developing strategies that help life and annuities carriers achieve their business, operational, and regulatory objectives
- Driving high-quality work products within expected timeframes and budgets
- Analyzing client business needs to identify key issues and develop pragmatic solutions and recommendations
- Monitoring delivery progress, managing risks, and keeping senior stakeholders informed of outcomes and dependencies
- Bringing together diverse stakeholder groups across business, actuarial, operations, technology, and finance functions
- Managing and motivating junior colleagues and supporting their professional development through coaching and mentorship
- Developing and maintaining long-term client relationships within the life and annuities ecosystem
- Identifying and executing appropriate client and vendor relationship-building activities
- Clearly articulating Alpha’s life and annuities capabilities, offerings, and credentials
- Staying abreast of industry trends impacting life and annuities carriers (e.g., retirement solutions, product innovation, regulatory change, technology modernization)
- Making a strong contribution to business development and practice growth
- Undertaking effective account management, including financial oversight and forecasting
We want to hear from people with:
- 10+ years of proven experience delivering consulting or large-scale change initiatives within life and annuities carriers, retirement providers, or consulting firms serving the insurance sector
- Significant experience with “blue-chip” consulting firms and/or direct industry experience within life insurance, annuities, or retirement services
- Experience delivering Target Operating Model, business process, and/or technology-enabled transformation initiatives across areas such as: Product development and management (Life, Annuities, Retirement), sales, marketing, and distribution (career, independent, broker-dealer, and digital channels), new business and underwriting, policy administration systems (PAS) modernization, in-force management, operations, and servicing, data, analytics, actuarial, and regulatory reporting
- Business development and account management experience, with a proactive interest in growing the Life & Annuities practice
- Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure and articulate complex topics clearly
- Demonstrated ability to build strong client relationships and act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders
- A genuine interest in mentoring and developing junior team members
- Familiarity with key themes in the life and annuities sector, such as retirement income, capital and reserving considerations, regulatory change, and digital transformation
Compensation and Perks:

There are a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to - skill sets, experience and training, and licensure and certifications. A reasonable estimate of the range is $155,000 to $250,000 subject to change based on salary benchmarking. In addition to this salary, employees would be eligible for both variable and non-variable benefits.
