Director, IT Project Management Office

Job SummaryThe Director of the IT Project Management Office is responsible from both the Fresenius Kabi US IT portfolio management (PPM) and the project management office duties (PMO). The PPM responsibilities will include providing oversight and strategic guidance of the Fresenius Kabi US IT portfolio in accordance with PMI standards, Fresenius Kabi Global PM standards and established process SOPs. Additionally, the Director further maintains PMO responsibility to ensure project management (PM) best practices by team members executing those projects within the portfolio. Ultimately, this role requires the ability to perform tactical and strategic operations activities such as onboarding and project audits as well as continuous improvement of the processes and procedures that govern those activities. This role will manage multiple Managers, project managers, and specialists.
*This position requires working onsite in Lake Zurich 3 days per week; remaining days may be worked remotely.

• Salary Range: $170,000-200,000
• Position is eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan with a target of 16% of the base salary.
• Position is eligible to participate in our medium-term incentive plan.
• Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop PM professionals through direct engagement, coaching and development.
• Manage the entire project portfolio strategic planning process of IT related business projects including the collection, analysis, simulation and mitigation of constraints of the portfolio.Define and maintain KPIs of the portfolio and drive improvement strategies.
• Ensure direct guidance on IT project resource planning, reporting, portfolio road mapping, prioritization, and budgeting including responsibility for all PPM tools, adherence, and maintenance.
• Establish, maintain and refine project and program methodology for delivery of IT initiatives in conjunction with the global PMO standards and in coordination with global IT teams.
• Responsible for PPM tool adherence, maintenance and enhancements.
• Serve as a key member of the US IT leadership team to provide visibility into the technology portfolio performance and partner with business members to help lead the strategic annual investment process.
• Maintain and track all business submissions, decisions and outcomes for internal reporting and audit tracking.
• Engage and help drive suitable governance decisions, visibility, and status with business and IT leaders across the entire portfolio.
• Compliance and quality.
• Direct and manage compliance resources.  Support them in their goal to ensure compliance is maintained on program and projects of all types.
• Provide leadership to ensure adoption, implementation and drive continuous improvements with IT project management related operations including cost tracking.
• Improve project metrics and feedback measurements to ensure professional delivery of projects according to PMO best practices, industry standards, and methodologies.
• Oversee multiple projects from initiation to completion.
• Share lessons learned and best practices across programs, building relationships with stakeholders and brokering relationships at all levels.

 

Job Requirements

 

• Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field required. Master’s Degree preferred
• 10+ years of Project Management experience in a technology-based environment
• Project Management Institute (PMI) certification preferred
• Strong experience with Microsoft Project, Excel, Visio and SharePoint
• Ability to operate effectively in a collaborative/ teamwork environment
• Effective communication skills with all levels of the organization
