Position Summary:

The Director of Marketing will lead the development and execution of strategic marketing initiatives to drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and business growth. This role requires a dynamic leader with deep experience in B2B life sciences marketing, market analysis, digital strategy, and content marketing within the CDMO space. The ideal candidate will collaborate cross-functionally with sales & business development, commercial strategy, commercial excellence, and technical teams to position KBI as a premier partner in drug development and manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

Marketing Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy that aligns with business objectives and growth targets (e.g., FIH, CLD, AFS, Late Phase).

  • Lead brand positioning and messaging to differentiate KBI in the competitive CDMO landscape.

  • Oversee the execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns, including digital marketing, events, content marketing, and advertising.

  • Design and implement a strategic marketing plan to grow business via Strategic Alliance relationships and offerings.

  • Manage marketing budgets and optimize spending for maximum ROI.

  • Ensure planning, strategy and execution of key campaigns at global conferences and events.

Demand Generation & Lead Nurturing

  • Drive lead generation programs to support the sales pipeline and increase customer engagement.

  • Design and implement marketing automation and CRM strategies to track and nurture leads effectively.

  • Develop targeted campaigns for key industry verticals and customer segments.

Content & Thought Leadership

  • Oversee the creation of high-quality content (white papers, case studies, blogs, webinars) that highlights the company’s expertise and capabilities.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop scientific and technical marketing materials.

  • Position company executives as thought leaders through speaking engagements, media outreach, and industry events.

Event & Trade Show Management

  • Plan and execute industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events to maximize brand exposure.

  • Develop booth designs, promotional materials, and engagement strategies for events.

  • Track event ROI and continuously optimize future participation.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business, Life Sciences, or related field.

  • 10+ years of marketing experience, preferably in a CDMO, CRO, biotech, or pharmaceutical environment.

  • Proven success in B2B marketing, demand generation, and digital marketing strategies.

  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical development and manufacturing landscape.

  • Experience managing marketing automation tools (HubSpot, Highspot, etc.) and CRM platforms (Salesforce, etc.).

  • Exceptional communication, project management, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to translate complex scientific concepts into compelling marketing messages.

  • Willingness to travel for industry events and or client meetings (up to 20-30%).

Salary Range: $173,000 - $238,700

Salary range provided per current averages and expectations. The salary and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience and may be outside this range. KBI has a robust total rewards strategy which includes an annual bonus structure for all employees, medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid PTO and holidays, 401K matching with 100% vesting in 60 days and employee recognition programs.
