Lantern supports members with dedicated care teams throughout their care journey, ensuring access, coordination, and strong clinical outcomes nationwide. 

The Network team is responsible for ensuring Lantern’s provider ecosystem remains high-performing, scalable, and aligned to member and client needs. 

The Director, Network Success will lead the strategy and execution of Lantern’s territory and provider account management function. This role is responsible for driving provider engagement, retention, and growth across key markets while building operational infrastructure that supports scale. The first year will focus heavily on team development, removing operational barriers, implementing reporting cadences, and formalizing account planning and performance management processes. 

This individual will partner cross-functionally with Member Services, Claims, Clinical, and Network Strategy to ensure a consistent provider experience and to operationalize improvements that strengthen provider relationships and outcomes. 

Location: Remote, USA | Travel Required 

Responsibilities 

  • Provider Relationship Management and Growth 
  • Serve as executive sponsor for Lantern’s largest and most strategic provider groups, building durable and trusted relationships. 
  • Align Lantern’s capabilities with provider goals, advocating internally to address needs, remove friction, and enhance partnership value. 
  • Drive revenue and network performance through proactive engagement, retention strategies, and identification of expansion opportunities. 
  • Lead renewal and retention efforts for high-value provider accounts, mitigating churn risk and strengthening long-term alignment. 
  • Strategic Planning and Operational Excellence 
  • Define team strategy, priorities, and operating rhythms to achieve growth, engagement, and retention targets. 
  • Partner with VP, Network Success to enforce and improve scalable account planning frameworks, reporting cadences, and performance management systems. 
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and service quality. 
  • Establish data-driven visibility into team performance, provider health, and network outcomes. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration 
  • Partner with Member Services, Claims, Clinical, and Product teams to align workflows and ensure consistent provider experiences. 
  • Define escalation pathways, roles, and handoffs across functions to improve execution and responsiveness. 
  • Advocate for system and process enhancements that improve provider engagement and operational effectiveness. 
  • Team Leadership and Development 
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of network and territory managers responsible for provider relationships. 
  • Build a high-performance, collaborative culture centered on accountability, execution, and provider success. 
  • Provide structured coaching, training, and development plans to strengthen team capability and impact. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree required. 
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in provider network management, healthcare operations, or account leadership. 
  • 3+ years of team management experience (5+ years preferred). 
  • Industry experience strongly preferred, including familiarity with Centers of Excellence models, provider networks, or value-based care environments. 
  • Proven track record of leading and scaling high-performing teams. 
  • Demonstrated success managing complex stakeholder environments and cross-functional initiatives. 
  • Strong operational and strategic planning capabilities. 
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills in fast-paced environments. 
  • Exceptional communication and executive presence with both internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Experience with project management and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Jira, Monday.com, Microsoft Project). 

Success in This Role Looks Like 

  • High provider retention and satisfaction across priority markets and accounts. 
  • Clear, repeatable account planning and performance management infrastructure implemented across the team. 
  • Improved operational alignment across Network, Member Services, Claims, and Clinical functions. 
  • Strong engagement and productivity across territory management teams. 
  • Measurable growth in provider participation, utilization, and network performance. 
  • Reduction in escalations, friction points, and time to resolution for provider issues.
