We believe that mental health is just as important as physical health. We recognize that mental health issues can be complex and multifaceted, and we are dedicated to treating the whole person, not just the symptoms.

We aim to create a world where mental health is no longer stigmatized or marginalized, but rather is embraced as an integral part of one's overall well-being.

We believe that by providing quality care that is both evidence-based and compassionate, we can empower individuals to take charge of their mental health and achieve their full potential. We are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of those struggling with mental health issues and we strive to be a force for positive change in the field of mental healthcare.

Rula is a remote-first company. We currently hire in most U.S. states, with the exception of Hawaii.

About the Role

We are looking for a Director of Performance Marketing that will lead the paid media and performance marketing strategy across the full DTC funnel for patient marketing, driving scalable growth with strong ROI discipline across a nine-figure budget. You will build and lead a high-performing team, manage agency partners, and oversee performance and brand paid media programs. Partnering closely with analytics, you’ll implement modern measurement and experimentation frameworks, including MMM, attribution, and incrementality testing, to inform decisions and unlock growth. You’ll plan, forecast, and report on channel performance, scale patient starts efficiently, and continuously test creative, targeting, bidding, and new channels.

This role collaborates closely with brand, product, engineering, and finance teams to ensure on-brand creative, a strong martech foundation, and disciplined investment planning. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of paid media and growth marketing experience, a track record scaling DTC programs with $50M+ budgets, deep channel expertise, strong analytical and communication skills, and a hands-on, test-and-learn mindset that thrives in complex, high-growth environments.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of related professional experience

  • 8+ years experience owning in-house DTC performance marketing programs in a sophisticated or growth environment with $50M+ annual budgets across 3+ material channels (core channels - paid search, paid social, affiliates)

  • 5+ years managing people with at least 2+ years managing a team of 3+

  • Demonstrated track record of experience driving material growth in user acquisition from paid media DTC channels

  • Demonstrated track record launching and scaling new user acquisition channels / programs in D2C paid marketing

  • Expert using different marketing measurement approaches - marketing mix modeling, multi touch attribution, incrementality testing

Preferred Qualifications

While having the preferred qualifications enhances your candidacy, having all of them is not mandatory. We encourage all interested applicants to apply, even those who may not meet every preferred requirement.

  • Experience onboarding and working with high performing external marketing agencies

  • Ownership of brand / awareness media strategy, budgets, and execution

  • Experience in healthcare (or other highly regulated industry) or in a marketplace business model

  • Marketing operations background with experience building and expanding martech stack and toolset

We're serious about your well-being! As part of our team, full-time employees receive:

  • 100% remote work environment: Working hours to support a healthy work-life balance, ensuring you can meet both professional and personal commitments (must be based in United States, currently not hiring in Hawaii)

  • Attractive pay and benefits: Full transparency of pay ranges regardless of where you live in the United States

  • Comprehensive health benefits: Medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and FSA/HSA

  • 401(k) plan access: Start saving for your future

  • Generous time-off policies: Including 2 company-wide shutdown weeks each year for self-care (for most employees)

  • Paid parental leave: Available for all parents, including birthing, non-birthing, adopting, and fostering

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Support for your mental and physical health

  • New hire home office stipend: Set up your workspace for success

  • Quarterly department stipend: Fund team-building activities or in-person gatherings

  • Wellness events and lunch & learns: Explore a variety of engaging topics

  • Community and employee resource groups: Participate in groups that celebrate employee identity and lived experiences, fostering a sense of community and belonging for all

Our team

We believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion are fundamental to our mission of making mental healthcare work for everyone.  We are dedicated to having a culture of inclusion that will support our employees in feeling safe, seen, heard, and valued.

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
