Job Title: Director, Policy

About the Role

The Director of Policy will be a leader in Unite Us’ policy and regulatory strategy related to government programs, health and social care transformation, and the identification and delivery of services addressing Social Determinants of Health (SDoH). This role will sit at the intersection of policy development, regulatory analysis, and strategic partnerships, ensuring Unite Us both influences and operationalizes evolving federal and state policy landscapes. The Director of Policy will monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments, translate policy and regulatory changes into actionable opportunities for Unite Us and its partners, and support government agencies and community-based organizations in implementing new initiatives. This role will also help position Unite Us as a trusted thought leader in the SDoH and health technology space by advancing policy narratives that promote holistic well-being, cross-sector collaboration, and sustainable funding models.

What You'll Do:

Policy Strategy & Advocacy

  • Develop and implement comprehensive federal and state policy strategies aligned with Unite Us’ mission, business objectives, and growth goals.
  • Monitor and analyze proposed and final legislation, regulations, and guidance impacting healthcare delivery, payment models, and cross-sector coordination.
  • Lead policy research and analysis, including the development of white papers, policy briefs, position statements, and public comments on proposed regulations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with policymakers, government agencies, coalitions, advocacy organizations, and other key stakeholders.
  • Represent Unite Us in policy discussions, public forums, conferences, and external engagements.
  • Support advocacy efforts that advance policies aligned with Unite Us’s platform and customers.

Regulatory Affairs & Translation

  • Serve as an internal subject matter expert on federal and state regulatory environments related to SDoH, healthcare quality, payment, and reporting requirements.
  • Lead efforts to identify and synthesize regulatory changes affecting screening for and delivery of SDoH-related services.
  • Translate complex policy and regulatory developments into clear guidance for internal teams and external partners, including how Unite Us products can support compliance, implementation, and operational success.
  • Support Unite Us and its partners in understanding and leveraging regulatory flexibilities related to payment, referrals, data sharing, and care coordination.
  • Establish and maintain processes to track, analyze, and communicate regulatory trends across states and regions.

Cross-Functional & External Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product, Partnerships, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to align policy and regulatory insights with product strategy, go-to-market efforts, and customer needs.
  • Support the development of advocacy language and messaging to be used in regulatory comments, external communications, and partner-facing materials.
  • Engage with existing and prospective customers and partners to identify policy-driven opportunities and inform Unite Us’s strategic direction.
  • Lead or contribute to internal projects and initiatives that extend beyond assigned regions or policy areas.

Thought Leadership & Market Positioning

  • Establish Unite Us as a thought leader in the health and social care ecosystem by presenting on policy and regulatory topics related to SDoH and system transformation.
  • Contribute to content development (e.g., blogs, reports, presentations) that elevates Unite Us’s voice in national and state policy conversations.
  • Identify emerging policy and regulatory trends and provide strategic guidance to executive leadership on risks, opportunities, and long-term implications.

You’re a great fit for this role if:

  • 10+ years of work experience in a related field and industry, including experience working with government agencies
  • Background in federal and state regulatory analysis as well as public policy, the healthcare industry, and/or a related field
  • Experience with tracking and summarizing regulatory, programmatic and/or funding opportunities at state and federal levels

Environmental Job Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • This position is remote, U.S. based. 
  • This position may require 5% travel
  • The target pay range for this role is: $140,000-160,000. This salary range represents our target hiring range for this role. The proposed salary will be dependent on the candidate's skills, experience, and competencies, as well as location.
  • All team members will be required to pass a background check which includes criminal, employment, and education verification
