Role Overview:
As the Director of Pricing Strategy and Transformation, you will direct and control the activities of a broad functional area focused on shaping our company's pricing strategy and leading critical transformation programs. You will oversee the strategic framework used to set the best prices for our products, balancing profitability, market competition, and customer demand. Working closely with several cross-functional teams and especially, Product Management, a core focus of this role will be influencing product roadmaps and enabling product managers to make data-driven pricing decisions based on competitive intelligence and analytics. You will participate with other senior leaders to establish strategic plans and objectives, while holding overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, and managing expense priorities for this function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pricing Strategy and Product Roadmap Influence: Oversee the strategy to ensure our pricing remains competitive against market rivals, utilizing competitive intelligence to break down pricing barriers and lead strategic transition to align with industry standards and promote sustainable growth.
- Competitive Intelligence and Analytics Enablement: Empower product managers to make optimal pricing decisions by providing them with robust analytics on ASP, price realization, like-for-like price uplifts, and UFR waterfall impacts. Guide product managers in accurately evaluating and factoring in complex variable costs—such as hardware, physical appliances, and SaaS cloud infrastructure into their pricing strategies to maintain target profitability. Work on complex issues requiring in-depth company knowledge, such as analyzing competitive thresholds, addressing negative margins, and establishing operational initiatives.
- Process adherence and change management: Make final decisions on administrative or operational matters and guide initiatives through from concept to general availability.
- Pricing Transformation Programs: Lead transformation initiatives and drive significant business process improvements across the company, such as revamping our global discounting guidance and leaning out price books.
- Leadership and Cross-Functional Influence: Regularly interact with executives and major customers to negotiate and gain alignment. Act as a trusted advisor and thought-process leader, providing effective coaching and mentoring to subordinate managers.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with 12 years of experience managing projects/programs; or an advanced degree with 10 years of experience.
- Requires progressive, proven industry and management experience, including experience managing people.
- Requires thorough knowledge of the cybersecurity market, pricing strategy, and the competitive environment, with a demonstrated ability to evaluate abstract variables to provide strategy and direction.

Directs a comprehensive product strategy from product conception and definition through end of life. Functions as a central resource with design, manufacturing, quality, test, marketing and distribution as the product(s) move through their lifecycle. Directs those involved in the design, modification and evaluation of all phases of a specific product or group of products. Formulates and executes long-term plans for cost/profit control. Promotes use of new technologies and industry-leading trends. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel.
