About the Role:

The Communications team at Hims & Hers is responsible for shaping how the world sees and understands our company, and our category. We help define the narrative, build trust, and drive adoption of our platform. As we build the next generation of personalized healthcare, our team plays a critical role in making our technology and product innovations clear, credible, and compelling.

We’re looking for a Director of Product & Technology Communications to lead storytelling around our specialties, products, platform, and AI initiatives. In this role, you’ll partner closely with teams across product, engineering, design, legal, medical, and marketing to develop narratives that resonate with customers, partners, and the press. You’ll also lead executive communications for our CTO.

You thrive in a fast-moving, high-impact environment. You know how to translate complex ideas into simple, human language. You’re comfortable working independently and collaboratively, and you bring experience supporting high-growth companies in the technology space.

You Will:
  • Build and lead an integrated communications strategy that elevates understanding of Hims & Hers’ products, platform, and long-term technology vision

  • Shape compelling narratives that make our product innovation and customer impact clear to media, investors, and the broader public

  • Lead communications around product launches, from positioning and messaging to press strategy and media execution, ensuring consistency across channels

  • Develop high-impact communications materials including messaging frameworks, press releases, blog posts, executive remarks, and media statements

  • Build and maintain relationships with key journalists, analysts, and industry influencers across tech, business, and healthcare

  • Serve as a strategic partner to the CTO and other product and technology leaders to elevate their voice and point of view externally

You Have:
  • 10+ years of experience in product and technology communications, ideally in fast-paced, consumer-facing, public companies

  • Bachelor's Degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field is often preferred

  • Experience working across both traditional and new media, with a deep understanding of the landscape and strong relationships across tech, business, and consumer press

  • Proven ability to lead strategic communications for product launches, platform milestones, and executive initiatives, from messaging to execution

  • Strong track record of shaping compelling narratives that drive awareness, understanding, and adoption of innovative consumer products and technologies

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for simplifying complex ideas and telling stories that resonate across audiences

  • Comfortable working closely with executives, product and engineering leads, and legal teams to shape strategy and manage sensitive or high-impact announcements

Our Benefits (there are more but here are some highlights):
  • Competitive salary & equity compensation for full-time roles

  • Unlimited PTO, company holidays, and quarterly mental health days

  • Comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental & vision, and parental leave

  • Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP)

  • 401k benefits with employer matching contribution

  • Offsite team retreats

We are committed to building a workforce that reflects diverse perspectives and prioritizes ethics, wellness, and a strong sense of belonging. If you're excited about this role, we encourage you to apply—even if you're not sure if your background or experience is a perfect match.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
