Mission Lane is revolutionizing access to credit to pave a clear way forward for millions of Americans on the path to financial success. By attracting top-tier talent and leveraging cutting-edge technology, we’re redefining consumer credit for the better. Sound like a mission you can get behind?

The impact you’ll make in this role:

Mission Lane is currently seeking a dynamic and customer-centric Director of Product Management to lead our team's efforts in enhancing credit access for both current and prospective customers. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for guiding the team in shaping and implementing a vision, strategy, and roadmap for expanding credit offerings at the optimal time and in the appropriate amounts to support customers on their financial journeys. Mission Lane utilizes credit access as a tool to assist customers in their financial advancement, while simultaneously generating business value to foster expansion of our company's goals and mission.

As the leader of this space, you will develop innovative mechanisms to responsibly expand credit access, ensuring we grow with our customers while also identifying new ways to reach and serve potential customers. You will balance risk, opportunity, and business impact to create scalable solutions that drive customer acquisition, engagement, and long-term financial success. You will work closely with cross-functional teams—including data science, risk, engineering, and design—to build products that unlock financial opportunities and foster lasting customer relationships.

As the Director of Product Management, you will:

  • Shape and drive the product vision and strategy – Lead the strategy and execution for expanding credit access to prospective and existing customers, ensuring they receive the right amount of credit at the right time to support their financial growth and our business objectives.
  • Lead and inspire a high-performing team – Manage and develop a team of product managers, fostering a culture of curiosity & analytical rigor through test and learning with customer obsession.
  • Leverage credit insights to drive innovation – Partner with credit and data science teams to understand credit models and policies, using these insights to build innovative customer-centric experiences and reshape how we think about credit access through our customers’ lifecycle.
  • Be the voice of the customer – Deeply understand customer needs, behaviors, and pain points through research and data. Advocate for customer-centric solutions that enhance their financial journey and build long-term trust.
  • Champion fairness and transparency in credit – Advocate for clear, responsible, and customer-first credit experiences that empower individuals to make informed financial decisions.

You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

  • Proven leadership in product management – 6-10+ years of experience in product management, with at least 2 years leading and mentoring teams.
  • Customer-obsessed mindset – Passion for building fair, transparent, and customer-first experiences that drive long-term financial growth.
  • Deep experience in credit, lending, or financial products – Strong understanding of credit access, financial services, or risk-based decisioning. Experience working with credit models or policies is a plus.
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills – Ability to balance business impact, risk, and customer needs while making data-driven decisions.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skill – Proven ability to work effectively with across technical and non-technical partners and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Bias for action – Ability to drive execution in a fast-paced environment, making thoughtful decisions with imperfect information.

About Mission Lane:

Founded in December 2018, Mission Lane is a purpose-driven fintech company based in the U.S., with headquarters in Richmond, Virginia.

It all started with a realization:  nearly fifty percent of the adult population in the U.S. doesn’t have access to a clear line of credit. Most traditional credit card companies either overlook or overcharge this group because they have less-than-perfect credit scores or no scores at all. We decided this just wouldn’t do.

In partnership with our sponsor banks, we offer credit cards under the Mission Lane brand name, with better, clearer terms, and a more refined customer experience than the alternatives available to people working hard to improve their credit.

To date, over three million consumers have chosen Mission Lane, earning high customer ratings on Credit Karma for its market segment and industry leading Net Promoter scores.

Mission Lane has cumulatively raised over $600 million of equity from leading investors, including Invus Opportunities, QED Investors, LL Funds, funds affiliated with Oaktree Capital Management, and other leading investors.
