Headquartered in San Francisco, with an influential APAC presence in Seoul, our global footprint underscores our commitment to driving worldwide innovation.

We are a global company that values the uniqueness of each person’s journey. It is the differences in our cultural, educational, and life experiences that allow us to constantly challenge the status quo. We are looking for individuals who are motivated by our mission and eager to make an impact as we push the bounds of technology to transform the world. Role Overview

The Director of Public Sector Operations is a strategic leadership role reporting directly to the Head of Public Sector. In this capacity, you will be the operational architect of our Public Sector team, ensuring our Video AI technologies are successfully integrated into federal, state, and local agencies.

You will act as the "connective tissue" between our world-class teams and the unique requirements of the government, harmonizing Product, Marketing, and Company Operations to drive mission-critical growth in a fully remote environment.

Core Duties & Responsibilities

  • Public Sector Orchestration: Oversee and coordinate all business development and operational activities, ensuring TwelveLabs’ GTM strategy is executed seamlessly across the government market.

  • Cross-Functional Synergy: Work in concert with Engineering and Product teams to translate "human-like video understanding" capabilities into mission-ready tools that meet public sector requirements.

  • Operational Lifecycle Management: Lead the end-to-end execution of government engagements, from pre-award strategy and technical proposal support to post-award delivery and scaling.

  • Strategic Alignment: Partner with Marketing to refine our video-language modeling narrative for government audiences and collaborate with Company Operations to build scalable procurement and contract management processes.

  • Market Intelligence: Monitor the evolving landscape of AI policy and government procurement to ensure Twelve Labs remains the leader in public sector video analytics.

  • Risk & Compliance: Manage operational risks unique to government contracting, ensuring all activities adhere to FAR/DFARS and ethical AI guidelines.

Requirements

  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.

  • Security Clearance: Ability to gain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance is required.

  • Public Sector Experience: * 10+ years of professional experience, with at least 5 years specifically focused on operations or business development within the U.S. Public Sector.

  • Education & Equivalency: * Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.

    • In lieu of education, 14+ years of relevant experience in U.S. Government operations, military leadership, or defense contracting will be accepted.

  • Technical Fluency: Ability to engage deeply with Engineering and Product teams to understand the nuances of multimodal foundation models and video-language modeling.

Preferred Qualifications ("Nice to Have")

  • Existing Clearance: An active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) clearance is highly preferred.

  • AI/ML Familiarity: Prior experience operationalizing AI/ML technologies within the Department of War (DoW) or Intelligence Community (IC).

  • Contracting Mastery: Deep familiarity with OTA (Other Transaction Authority), GSA Schedules, and rapid acquisition vehicles.

Key Competencies

  • Remote Leadership: Ability to drive complex projects and maintain high team cohesion in a distributed, remote-first environment.

  • Strategic Influence: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams (Engineering, Product, Marketing) toward a unified public sector goal.

  • Mission Focus: A passion for how video-language modeling can solve real-world problems in defense, public safety, and governance.
