We are currently seeking a highly driven Director of Sales to lead our Power and Utility team. This individual will bring deep relationships and domain fluency across the utility sector, including regulated utilities, independent power producers, grid operators, and energy retailers.
As the Director of Sales, you will motivate the sales team, design strategic sales plans, and assess costs and competition. In addition to being an excellent communicator, our ideal candidate will be a self-motivated professional with proven leadership experience.
Performance Objectives
  • Direct sales activities in a designated area, communicating a clear strategic sales vision.
  • Attract and retain top sales talent.
  • Train and coach the sales team members.
  • Drive gains in revenue, market share and profit performance.
  • Coordinate sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
  • Manage team pipeline, individual contributors and sales team forecasts.
  • Reporting on forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of accounts.
  • Analyze sales statistics to formulate policy and to assist dealers in promoting sales.
  • Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and discount rates, and develops sales campaigns.
  • Recommends product simplification and standardization to eliminate unprofitable items from sales line.
  • Represents company at industry association meetings to promote our solutions.
  • Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales programs.
  • Act as liaison between sales and other departments.
  • Analyzes and controls expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Assists other departments within establishment to prepare manuals and technical publications.
  • Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume and potential sales.

Competitive Candidate Profile
To be successful, the senior sales professional must have:
  • At least 10 years' experience selling software, consulting, or information services into the Power and Utility sector, with direct coverage of regulated utilities, IPPs, ISOs/RTOs, municipals, or energy retailers in North America.
  • Experience with an overlay model sales model.
  • Ability to set goals and objectives for team members for achievement of operational and strategic results.
  • This person must thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and have a humble and genuine curiosity for learning.
  • Energetic and collaborative mixed in with a bit of competitiveness.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and is committed to prospecting new business.
  • Proven track record of consistent sales growth and quota obtainment.
  • Results-oriented and works with urgency with a #oneteam mentality.

This role is eligible for: Variable Compensation
Salary Range: $150,000 - $180,000 and $140,000 - $160,000 commission per year
