Director of Sales Operations
We are seeking a Director of Sales Operations to join Red Clay Consulting who is driven to apply their deep knowledge of the Utility industry to understand and solve client needs. This person is experienced in crafting solutions that include system implementations, advisory services, and managed services in the meter-to-cash, field, and asset management space. This person will be focused on optimizing and overseeing operational sales processes that result in achieving annual sales goals in the most efficient manner.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and optimize end-to-end sales processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement best practices and workflows to streamline the sales lifecycle.
  • Oversee the management of sales technologies, CRM systems, and other tools. Collaborate with IT to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
  • Work closely with other departments, including marketing, finance, and IT, to ensure alignment of sales operations with overall business objectives.
  • Utilize data analytics to provide insights into sales performance, trends, and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership to develop accurate sales forecasts and plans.
  • Develop and present regular reports to senior management, highlighting key performance metrics.
  • Monitor performance against forecasts and implement adjustments as needed.
  • Lead the proposal development process from start to finish through mentorship of Proposal Managers and optimizing the process to produce winning proposals. This includes partnering with Proposal Managers and various internal contributors to ensure on-time/high-quality proposals that align with the win themes defined by the Sales team.
  • Mentor Proposal Managers and internal contributors to increase sales acumen and develop sales skill sets across the organization.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Delivery leadership to build out reusable sales collateral.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between Sales and other internal departments.
Skills and Core Capabilities:
  • Understand utility client’s meter-to-cash and customer service business needs. Conversant in Oracle Utilities C2M and other meter-to-cash applications.
  • Understand utility asset management and mobile workforce management business needs. Conversant in Oracle Utilities WACS, OFS, and other field and asset management applications.
  • Ability to understand client needs and tailor creative solutions within implementation, advisory, and managed service offerings.
  • Ability to build strong partnerships with leadership and resources in different departments.
  • Ability to prioritize competing tasks to ensure timely delivery of highest criticality items.
  • Ability to mentor resources and help them meet their career goals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to optimize sales processes and implement sales technologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills that is tailored to all levels of leadership.
