As a Network Reliability Engineer at Cloudflare, you will enhance network resilience by managing the technical operations of the core data center network, automating operational tasks, and contributing to system design. The opportunity

The Director of Security Engineering will lead a cross-functional team that is responsible for ensuring all Unity’s cloud infrastructure is according to industry best practices and patterns. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading these efforts for Unity across all business units.

What you’ll be doing

  • Ensure the company’s cloud infrastructure meets and exceeds solid security standards.
  • Develop security documentation, training and guidance for internal infrastructure and development team. Create technical security guidance documents and standards for engineers.
  • Identify and implement security technical and process improvements. Architect, build, automate, and operate automated security controls and review capabilities. Design and develop security tooling automation enabling the security team to operate at scale.
  • Consult with internal teams and assist with architecture, threat modeling, and reviewing systems and infrastructure. Participate in the Security Leadership team and assure that InfraSec’s work is properly prioritized per Security roadmap, identifying, and justifying key elements for the InfraSec roadmap. Provide assurance that InfraSec resources are well-trained and have a clear understanding of their assignments and expectations.

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Information Technology Management, or a related field, and six (6) years of post-baccalaureate, progressive work experience in the position offered or a related position.
  • Requires 6 (six) years of experience in the following: Endpoint security, using tools such as Endpoint Detection and Response Antivirus (EDR); Network Security monitoring using tools such as Intrusion Detection System (IDS), and Intrusion Protection System (IPS); Security Issues and threat landscape; Cloud computing platforms and cloud-based infrastructure design and operation; Container technologies, security, and tooling such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Helm; Scripting and coding with one or more of the following languages: Python, Ruby, and/or Golang; Designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure security systems and networks such as GCP, Azure, or AWS; Addressing system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques using CSPM and vulnerability tools such as Orca, Wiz, or Qualys; Improving security techniques and process following organizational and industry security standards such as NIST SOC2, or PCI DSS; and Implementing Security Monitoring and network analysis, architecting Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) using Elastic or Splunk.

  • 40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Salary: $251,492/yr. Standard company benefits.
  • Telecommuting permitted during office closures/other restricted staff presence as determined by the employer.
