About Trivelta

As Director of Tax, you’ll lead the design and execution of Trivelta’s global tax strategy across a growing portfolio of entities and jurisdictions. You’ll manage all aspects of tax compliance, reporting, and planning, ensuring we operate efficiently, minimize risk, and meet obligations in every market we serve. This is a hands-on, strategic role ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments, and is excited to build scalable tax infrastructure from the ground up.

Responsibilities

  • Lead global tax operations across all Trivelta entities
  • Oversee income, indirect (Sales and Use/VAT/GST), gaming, and employment tax compliance — ensuring timely and accurate filings in all jurisdictions
  • Develop and execute international tax planning strategies that optimize global effective tax rate and cash flow
  • Coordinate with external advisors and local tax partners to manage audits, notices, and compliance matters
  • Design and implement scalable tax reporting processes and internal controls aligned with growth and regulatory complexity
  • Collaborate with Accounting and Finance teams to ensure tax accuracy in monthly closes, consolidations, and financial statements
  • Lead transfer pricing strategy, documentation, and intercompany policy alignment
  • Support expansion efforts by advising on tax structuring for new markets, entities, and product launches
  • Monitor legislative changes and assess impacts on Trivelta’s operating model, particularly in gaming and digital services sectors
  • Manage tax provision (ASC 740) preparation and review in coordination with the Controller and external auditors
  • Partner with Legal, HR, and FP&A to ensure tax considerations are embedded in contracts, compensation plans, and forecasts
  • Drive automation and system integration for tax data management, leveraging ERP (NetSuite) and reporting tools

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA and/or MST strongly preferred)
  • 10+ years of progressive tax experience, including international and multi-entity exposure
  • Solid understanding of U.S. federal, state, and international tax regimes (OECD, VAT, transfer pricing)
  • Experience leading or coordinating global compliance in high-growth or technology-driven companies
  • Strong working knowledge of ASC 740 and financial statement tax reporting
  • Proven success in building or maturing in-house tax functions (transitioning from outsourced to internal)
  • NetSuite experience a plus
  • Excellent project management and process design skills with ability to build from scratch and scale
  • Collaborative and adaptable communicator who can translate complex tax issues into business terms
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving organization with multiple jurisdictions and regulatory frameworks

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
