This is your chance to take ownership of the technology backbone of a real-world, high-impact business and shape how global logistics operates in the future. If you want to build systems that actually move the world, this is your arena.

Job Description

Our client is hiring a Director of Technology to lead the evolution of their entire technology ecosystem. Currently the company is undergoing digital transformation transition from a legacy TMS to a new modern TMS built on Salesforce while also moving their CRM to Salesforce. This is a lean, high-trust, high-ownership environment. You will work directly with the CEO and leadership team, not as a layer of management, but as a true partner in building the company’s technology vision.

You will own the architecture, integration, and optimization of a Salesforce-centered ecosystem that connects logistics operations, financial systems, customer workflows, and data infrastructure. You will shape and deliver operational systems that power real-world logistics workflows, ensuring our technology drives measurable impact across the business. This is not a corporate environment. This is a place for operators who want to make a real impact. You will not inherit a fully built system. You will help build it.

You’re a hands-on builder where you will operate as:

  • Salesforce platform owner
  • Integration architect
  • Automation and AI strategist
  • Operational systems leader
  • Technical partner to the CEO

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the company’s technology roadmap.
  • Own and evolve the Salesforce platform architecture (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, custom objects, workflows).
  • Design and manage integrations across systems (TMS, finance, data, customer platforms).
  • Drive end-to-end change management for new system implementations and enhancements.
  • Develop strategies to ensure strong user adoption across diverse teams (operations, customer service, sales, etc).
  • Identify and implement AI-driven improvements.
  • Lead and mentor a small internal technology team.
  • Occasionally engage with clients on technical solutions and platform capabilities.

Qualifications

  • 7-12+ years of technology leadership experience in, digital transformation, platform engineering, or business systems.
  • Must have salesforce experience (integrations, workflows, automation, CRM, etc).
  • Highly preferred: Salesforce experience with Apex, Lightning components, and Flow Builder.
  • Strong understanding of APIs, webhooks, and system integrations.
  • Demonstrated success leading change management and driving user adoption at scale.
  • Experience with integration platforms (MuleSoft, Workato, Boomi, or similar).
  • Experience working with data platforms and BI tools (Snowflake, BigQuery, Tableau, etc.).
  • Experience with automation platforms and AI workflows is strongly preferred.
  • Must have experience in logistics, freight, or supply chain industry.
  • Proven ability to operate in a lean, hands-on environment.

Additional Information

Interview Process

We value thoughtful hiring and long-term fit. The interview process includes:

  • Initial conversation with our team
  • Direct conversation with the CEO
  • Leadership interviews
  • Competency-based exercise

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
