Texas Instruments is seeking an IT Network Engineer to plan, architect, design, budget and implement LAN, Wireless and WAN network solutions for its Manufacturing and Enterprise locations, across multiple platforms and protocols to support TI's business needs.  The engineer will also participate in day-to-day operations support as needed.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Gathering customer and system connectivity requirements used as inputs into building resilient network solutions.
  • Coordinating with stakeholders/suppliers/vendors, both internal and external, to ensure on-time project delivery.
  • Ownership of factory, design, datacenter and sales office network documentation and plans for their area(s) of the infrastructure.
  • Collaborating to develop technology roadmaps, considering business ne eds and in alignment to overall IT strategies.
  • Supporting and troubleshooting network faults during break/fix activities and events.
  • Periodic review of network capacity, usage and health metrics for respective area(s) of responsibility to plan for upgrades or performance adjustments.
  • Collaborating with other IT groups to understand the future requirements for network capacity at TI's locations.

  • Ability to travel and provide after-hours and/or weekend support duties as scheduled or deemed necessary during implementation of network engineering projects.
  • Experience in working effectively with globally diverse cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with following suppliers - Cisco LAN & WAN, Arista LAN & WAN, Aruba Wireless.
  • Ability to understand, diagnose and quickly fix complex network infrastructure issues across TI.
  • Deep understanding of routing protocols, OSPF & BGP, and how they are deployed in large corporate environments.
Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or relevant technical field
  • 3-5 years of work experience responsible for designing, deploying and operating large-scale networks 
  • Experience learning network automation, software, frameworks, and APIs

Preferred qualifications:

  • Current CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) certification or equivalent.
  • Deep understanding and hands-on experience with Arista campus and datacenter architecture, including Spine and Leaf topologies.
  • Proven ability to implement and manage network segmentation and micro-segmentation strategies.
  • Familiarity with Software-Defined Networking (SDN) concepts and practical application.
  • Understanding network automation tools, specifically CVP, CVAAS, and AVD.
  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), demonstrated through experience with Python, Ansible, and Terraform.
  • Experience in cloud architecture (AWS, GCP, Azure), particularly with cloud connectivity solutions like VPN and Direct Connect.
