KLDiscovery brings clarity, trust, and meaning to data for clients navigating legal matters worldwide. Our eDiscovery Technology (EDT) practice is where clients meet advanced analytics and AI in discovery: technology-assisted review and continuous active learning, generative AI review for relevance and privilege, search and analytics strategy, and the custom workflows that turn a hard matter into a defensible, efficient one. Demand for this work is growing fast, and the practice is growing with it.

As an eDiscovery Technologist, you run the analytics and AI-assisted workflows that our consultants design: setting up and executing TAR and continuous active learning, running generative AI classifiers, pulling validation samples and statistics, building search and analytics outputs, and keeping the matter record complete. You work closely with consultants and project managers, learn the methodology from the inside, and grow toward the consultant track. This opening carries the practice's weekend coverage schedule, so deadline-driven review technology work has a dedicated owner when clients need it most.

What You'll Be Doing

Execute Analytics and AI Workflows

  • Set up and run TAR 1.0 and continuous active learning projects in Relativity, RelativityOne, and Nebula per the practice playbooks: project configuration, training rounds, monitoring, and cutoff support.

  • Run generative AI relevance and privilege classifiers (Relativity aiR, eDiscovery AI, KLD in-house tools) under consultant direction: prompt execution, batch management, results tracking, and iteration support.

  • Pull validation samples, compute recall, precision, and elusion estimates from the templates, and prepare the validation documentation for consultant review.

  • Structured analytics (clustering, email threading, near-duplicate, concept analysis), and other analytics outputs to specification.

Matter Support and Quality

  • Work assigned projects from the EDT request queue within SLA, with quality control requests taking priority over new projects of the same tier.

  • Keep matter records, tracking, and time entry accurate and current so utilization and billing are right the first time.

  • Apply the AI governance posture on every matter: client data boundaries, client-specific AI restrictions, privilege protections, and audit trail.

  • Escalate anything client-facing, legally sensitive, or outside a defined playbook to the assigned consultant or the Manager.

Weekend Coverage

  • Serve as the practice's dedicated coverage on Saturday and Sunday during US business hours: monitor the request queue and escalation channels, action priority projects, and keep scheduled TAR and AI review work moving toward Monday deadlines.

  • Provide clear handoff notes at the end of each shift so consultants and project managers pick up without gaps.

  • Coordinate with the on-call consultant or Manager for anything that needs a methodology or client decision.

Learning and Growth

  • Complete structured training and certification milestones on the practice playbooks and tools.

  • Participate in internal training and demo sessions, and contribute to the knowledge base as you learn.

  • Grow toward the consultant track: shadow client calls, take on scoping under supervision, and build toward leading matters.

  • Lead with the four values. Client is Always in the Room. Own the Outcome. Better Every Day. Deliver Results Together.

What You Should Already Have

  • 2+ years in eDiscovery, litigation support, or a related technical role, with hands-on Relativity or RelativityOne experience. Exposure to TAR, continuous active learning, or generative AI review a plus.

  • Comfort with data, spreadsheets, and basic statistics. You can follow a validation template and spot when a number looks wrong.

  • Attention to detail and a habit of complete documentation and accurate time entry.

  • Clear written communication for project notes, handoffs, and status updates. Comfortable asking questions and escalating early.

  • Ability to work independently on a defined playbook once certified, and to hold a Wednesday to Sunday schedule reliably.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Relativity Certified Administrator, Relativity Analytics Specialist, or CEDS a plus. Basic scripting (Python, PowerShell) a plus.

  • Eligible to work in the US.

Work Environment

  • Remote, US-based. This opening works a Wednesday to Sunday schedule during US business hours, with Monday and Tuesday off. Weekend hours are the core of the role, not an exception to it.

  • Deadline-driven work. Priority projects and scheduled AI review runs can require flexing hours within the shift, and swaps with teammates are allowed as long as coverage has no gaps.

  • Company-provided equipment and tool access. Training on KLD playbooks and in-house tools is provided after hire.

Benefits & Perks

  • Talented, collaborative global team that will push and support you.

  • Market-competitive compensation and performance bonus. Weekend schedule differential per KLD policy, where applicable.

  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits, with company-provided life insurance and short- and long-term disability.

  • Paid time off and 401(k) retirement plan with company match.

  • Training and certification support, and a defined path from Technologist to Consultant.

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
