Job Overview:

Join our Team! Cambium Assessment is a leader in statewide online assessments. We integrate cutting-edge technology with content expertise to develop standardized assessments for kindergarten through high school students. We are currently looking to fill the role of Senior Content Advisor - Product Development with an innovative star. The ideal candidate will be a key member of the team, serving as a thought pioneer in the development of new and innovative approaches to all types and stages of assessment

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the development of innovative assessment products, including the research, design, development, and implementation of these development efforts.

  • Contributes to and executes a complex plan or solution that is vetted by Test Development leadership.

  • Presents in TAC meetings as a content specialist and may present to senior leadership of the division and company.

  • Manages client and stakeholder expectations effectively and ensures all client and collaborator requests are resolved in a thorough and timely manner.

  • Identifies and escalates complex department-wide issues, seeking and offering solutions.

  • Works collaboratively across divisions, as needed.

  • Contributes to content test development across all projects as a senior-level reviewer, as needed.

  • Oversees and may drive client facing meetings, including as the content specialist at standard settings, as well as facilitation of content advisory, rubric validation, range finding, data review, and other client meetings, as needed.

  • Drives Content and Test Development training, including preparation for standard setting.

  • Autonomously contributes to proposal work, as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Educational Leadership, or related degree that reflects pedagogy and learning science knowledge (Master’s degree preferred) and at least 8 years of experience developing content for large-scale summative assessments or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Deep content knowledge is required.

  • Demonstrated experience and familiarity with innovative assessment products, including the research, design, development, and implementation of development efforts, is highly preferred.

  • Awareness of early childhood formative products and experience in creating district-level literacy assessments is beneficial.

  • At least 3 years of experience leading people, programs, projects, or strategic initiatives in education, educational assessment, curriculum, or instructional development environments.

  • Highly creative and innovative with a deep understanding of Principled Assessment Design, learning processes, and learning progressions.

  • Demonstrated experience contributing to Technical Advisory Committees (TAC) is preferred.

  • Highly comfortable interacting with and delivering various presentations to senior leadership across divisions and C-suite of the organization.

  • Proven knowledge and experience with the U.S. Education System and Education Assessment is required.

  • Demonstrated and highly effective thought leadership.

  • Data-backed skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to identify problems and conceptualize solutions.

  • Highly flexible and adaptive, pivoting as needed to arrive at a solution.

  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

  • Highly skilled in collaboration, communication, and multi-tasking.

  • Ability to travel 1-10 times per year, including trips lasting 2-5 days.
