What You'll Do

UEFN is bringing the power of Unreal Engine and the technology and content of Fortnite to game creators everywhere. Help us empower game creators of all stripes, from first-time UGC dabblers to AAA development teams, to bring their projects to life with UEFN. As a member of the UEFN Editor Team, you’ll help us build and integrate technology from Unreal Engine, our game projects, and new ideas into UEFN to help bring all creators to our platform.

In this role, you will
  • Design and implement tools and engine features for UEFN, Fortnite, and Unreal Engine
  • Design and implement user interfaces for tools in UEFN and related tools
  • Improve the end-to-end UEFN experience with pipeline and automation tools
  • Analyze and fix common performance problems in a game engine, such as load times, memory usage, and CPU utilization
  • Support and improve game development for Fortnite by working with various game and creative groups to solve issues
  • Track down and fix issues in systems and tools
What we're looking for
  • Excellent C++ skills, including debugging
  • Experience writing UIs with a toolkit such as WPF, QT, Slate (UE UI system)
  • Experience writing game development tools or tools for other software development
  • Prior experience in a large codebase
  • Well-versed in software programming principles
  • Prior experience with Perforce is nice to have
  • Familiarity with Unreal Engine, UEFN, or Verse is nice to have

This role is open to multiple locations in North America (including WA).

Pay Transparency Information

The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren’t limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic’s generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).
