The RoleAs a Software Engineering Manager at Summation, you will lead a team of talented engineers to design, build, and evolve our AI-driven business planning and analytics platform. You will partner closely with product managers, designers, and applied science teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions that empower our customers to achieve their business goals. This role requires a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for translating complex business needs into robust, innovative software solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership: Guide the architectural vision and technical roadmap for Summation’s platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance while leveraging data- and AI-driven technologies.
Team Management: Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability. Set clear goals and provide regular feedback to drive individual and team success.
Operational Excellence: Drive engineering best practices, including code quality, system reliability, and performance optimization, while balancing innovation with operational stability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with product managers and design team to align technical efforts with the product vision, and collaborate with applied science and customer deployment teams to integrate cutting-edge solutions into the platform.
Customer-Centric Innovation: Champion the needs of customers by ensuring the engineering organization delivers solutions that are intuitive, reliable, and transformative for business planning and analytics.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
7+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2+ years in a leadership or management role overseeing technical teams.
Proven experience building data- and analytics-heavy products, with a strong understanding of data modeling, enterprise software, and scalable system design.
Familiarity with AI or machine learning technologies and their application in product development is a plus.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to balance technical trade-offs with business priorities.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with a track record of mentoring engineers and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Experience thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a proactive approach to ownership and delivery.
