We are hiring a hands-on Engineering Manager for Chaturbate who will nurture a culture of excellence and continuous growth within their team. As we move towards our next growth phase, we are looking for someone who is excited to lead a team of high-performing engineers and be a catalyst for their success. This remote role will require occasional travel to our Los Angeles, CA office.

The Role:
As an Engineering Manager, you will:

  • Conduct one-on-ones with direct reports to discuss and align on goals.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation through coaching and mentoring team members.
  • Lead code reviews to maintain high code quality and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
  • Some hands-on coding may be required depending on the team size managed.
Requirements

About You:

  • You have at least 3 years of experience managing a team of software developers.
  • You worked as a senior software engineer before being promoted to an engineering management role.
  • You are able to review Python/Django AND TypeScript code and provide code review feedback.
  • You have proven web development experience and a strong understanding of system design, allowing you to make important technical decisions.
  • Proficient in conducting thorough code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.
  • You have a history of identifying skill gaps and promoting professional growth.
  • Deep understanding of modern web development technologies and frameworks and their best practices.
  • Passionate about driving continual improvement within your Engineering teams, breaking down roadblocks, and driving process improvements.

Bonus Points:

  • You are familiar with cloud technologies, like GCP or AWS.
  • You are comfortable programming in TypeScript or JavaScript and familiar with modern frameworks.

The Base Salary range for this position is $181,000 - $237,000 annually. This range reflects base salary only and does not include additional compensation or benefits. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum range for a new hire across the US for the posted position. A candidate's specific pay will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the candidate's job-related skills, relevant education, training, experience, certifications, and abilities of the candidate, as well as other factors unique to each candidate.
