About Us

In today’s connected world, sharing private information is the lifeblood of any organization. However, the challenge of keeping sensitive data secure has only grown, leading to regular leaks—even within top-tier organizations. This breakdown of trust disrupts communication and causes significant harm to people and businesses.

EchoMark offers a game-changing solution: we embed invisible, forensic markings in documents, personalized for each recipient. These markings don't disrupt information flow but allow leaks to be traced back to their source. The presence of EchoMark fosters trust, accountability, and better stewardship of private information.

We believe the future of information sharing lies in individualizing private data for each recipient, ensuring it stays secure while enabling teams to work effectively.

About the Role:

We’re looking for a dynamic, energetic, and entrepreneurial Engineering Manager to take ownership of EchoMark’s multitenant SaaS application. As our first engineering manager, you’ll work closely with the Head of Engineering and founding engineering team to continue scaling the engineering organization, drive the product forward, maintain operational excellence, and execute at the highest level. This role requires close collaboration across the company, especially with our product lead and engineering team, to build and launch great products.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own the end-to-end of our primary multitenant SaaS application, from shipping new products and features to maintaining our operational excellence.
  • Work closely with product to define roadmap and strategy and translate that into engineering execution.
  • Manage and scale a world class team of full stack developers to execute the product vision.
  • Continue raising the bar in operational quality and automation while releasing at a high velocity, ideally weekly.
  • Exercise good judgement on engineering pace: when to push a team to sprint and when to rest.
  • Drive exceptional results by leading both strategically and tactically at the ground level.
  • Own live-site incident reporting and key operational metrics and SLAs.
  • Drive the 0 → 1 journey, shipping MVPs and scaling successful features for continued product growth.
  • Partner closely with the engineering leader to inspire the entire company around our product plans.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Engineering ownership and passion for serving our enterprise customers through exceptional leadership.
  • 6+ years of engineering management experience, ideally including time at both high-growth startups and larger B2B organizations.
  • Proven track record of shipping impactful, enterprise B2B SaaS products, ideally in cybersecurity.
  • Hands-on experience building and launching 0 → 1 products—knowing what great technical execution looks like.
  • Hands-on experience scaling products from MVPs to running at scale.
  • Strong business acumen—you can clearly communicate with product stakeholders and ask the right questions.
  • Exceptional communication to lead a talented engineering team with clarity and purpose.
  • Bias for action – you understand and believe in the product and are willing to roll up your sleeves to figure things out, including writing code.
  • Experience managing and mentoring all levels of engineers.
  • Technical background including a BS in engineering, computer science, or other related degree.
  • Relentless focus on craftsmanship, quality, and results.
  • Comfort in operating in an entirely new category where we are blazing the trail.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in developing AI-based products.
  • Prior experience as a VP or Director of Engineering, even at a smaller org.
  • Experience in document workflows, audio and video processing, or enterprise communications.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
