The Engineering Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating activities of an assigned engineering team on specific projects, providing oversight to ensure project deliverables are completed to standards and within established deadlines. The Engineering Supervisor will also assist the Engineering Manager with resource allocations, operating quality/efficiency/on-schedule performance, group utilization, HR related items, implement policies, as well as travelling to customer’s sites. The Engineering Supervisor is considered a senior technical role within the organization, and in conjunction with the Engineering Manager is expected to provide coaching, mentoring and developing other members of the Engineering group

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and develop a team of engineers, overseeing project work activities around quality standards and timeliness of assigned tasks.
  • Accountable for the development and review of project documents to established quality standards and requirements are achieved and upheld by the team ensuring customer expectations are met.
  • Provide project analysis and recommend necessary actions to achieve project deliverables to company standards and within established timelines.
  • Perform management administrative tasks for the team in a timely manner, (e.g. performance reviews, timecard, expenses, and travel)
  • Perform duties on projects as needed, such as commissioning support, drawings, and control work.
  • Own and maintain project and resource schedules, basic system implementations, enhancements and retrofits
  • May serve as a mentor to more entry level Engineers creating training materials/manuals for them
  • Ability to create designs in AutoCad and develop PLC controls systems and software programs related to customer requirements is a plus.
  • Involved in the hiring of new talents.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Organized with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to build and maintain productive work relationships.
  • Capable of critical analysis, evaluation, and synthesis of new and complex ideas
  • Proven leadership skills within a team dynamic
  • Ability to coach, lead and mentor others, including remote resources in multiple time zones, using conference calls, video conferencing and other forms of digital communication.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint.
  • Ability to travel throughout the US
  • Skilled in Engineering science: Logic and Programming
  • Knowledge about AutoCAD, Controls and Automation (PLC/HMI)
  • Strong time management and critical thinking skills

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
  • Strong management and advanced collaboration and communication skills (written and verbal communication).
  • Minimum of 5 years of electrical and/or controls engineering experience, prefer in material handling/ parcel industry.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Controls and /or Automation (PLC/HMI) in material handling/ parcel industry
  • Experience with CAD Software creating electrical drawings and schematics (AutoCAD Electrical).
  • Input and output devise design and implementation

Other Qualifications Desired:

  • PLC programming (RSlogix, Studio 5000, Unity Pro, TIA Portal, etc.).
  • HMI Programming (RSview, Factory Talk View, Ignition, Indusoft, Wonderware, etc.).
  • Industrial communication networks (EtherNet/IP, Devicenet, Profinet, etc.).
  • Low voltage electrical design and drawing creation.
  • Experience with VFDs a plus.
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally approximately 20% of the time.
The base salary range for this role is $87,600.00 to $131,300.00.  This base salary range represents the low and high end of the base salary range for this position. Actual base salary offered will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and performance.
