About the Opportunity
Zap Energy is seeking a high-caliber Executive Assistant (EA) to serve as a strategic partner and "right hand" to our CEO. You will operate at the intersection of breakthrough science and fast-paced business operations, ensuring our CEO’s time is maximized to achieve our mission: delivering clean, abundant nuclear energy.
You will manage the CEO’s time, priorities, and communications with precision—ensuring focus on what matters most as we build a new kind of nuclear company. This role is best suited for a proactive operator who thrives in ambiguity, exercises sound judgment, and brings calm execution to a fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Calendar & Priority Management: Own and optimize the CEO’s calendar, prioritizing high-impact meetings with investors, government officials, and internal technical and business teams.
- Executive Communications & Gatekeeping: Manage a high-volume inbox and serve as the primary interface for external stakeholders. Exercise discretion, judgement, and clarity in representing the CEO’s voice.
- Meeting Preparation & Follow-Through: Prepare concise, high-quality briefing materials, agendas, and presentations for board meetings, investor engagements, and public appearances. Track decisions and ensure follow-through on key actions.
- Travel & Logistics: Coordinate domestic and international travel, including detailed itineraries and "travel packs" for high-stakes meetings and site visits.
- Operational Coordination: Partner closely with the Chief of Staff and leadership team to drive alignment, track priorities, and improve operating rhythm across the organization.
- Special Projects: Lead discrete, high-priority initiatives ranging from executive events to strategic research and internal process improvements.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience: 7+ years of supporting C-level executives, ideally in a deep-tech, high-growth, or similarly complex environment.
- Judgement & Ownership: Exercises sound judgment under pressure, anticipates needs, prioritizes effectively, and operates with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and represent the CEO’s intent.
- Technical Fluency: Proficient with modern productivity tools (Outlook, PowerPoint, Slack, Box, etc.) and comfortable adopting new technologies, including AI-enabled tools.
- Alignment with Mission: Motivated by Zap Energy’s mission and grounded in principles of independent thinking, evidence-based decision-making, and intellectual rigor.
Estimated salary range: $109,000-130,000 annually. Candidates may be considered for other positions at Zap Energy and actual salary will be based on relevant education, experience, and other qualifications. Range is published in accordance with Washington Equal Pay and Opportunity Act.
