About Cowboy Space Corp:

Mission

Cowboy Space Corporation is solving the global energy crisis by building the infrastructure for abundant, resilient space-based solar energy. We are tackling one of humanity's most complex engineering challenges with a world-class team dedicated to delivering a revolutionary power platform. Cowboy Space Corporation is transforming how civilization powers, computes and connects - from orbit to Earth.

Background

Cowboy Space Corporation is building the infrastructure to power and connect the orbital economy. Our modular, scalable satellites collect sunlight in Low Earth Orbit to enable multiple integrated applications: transmitting energy via infrared lasers (space-to-earth and space-to-space), powering on-orbit high-performance computing clusters (GPU/TPU), and providing secure, high bandwidth optical data transport.

Current energy and data systems rely on complex logistics and outdated infrastructure. Cowboy Space Corporation overcomes these challenges by enabling direct, on-demand, secure, and scalable energy distribution and data processing from space. This will revolutionize how we operate in orbit and on Earth, supporting the rapidly expanding space industrial base, ISAM (In-Space Servicing, Assembly, and Manufacturing) operations, remote regions, and military bases.

Baiju Bhatt founded Cowboy Space Corporation in 2024. Inspired by his father's work with NASA Langley Research Center, Baiju earned his B.S. in Physics and M.S. in Mathematics at Stanford before co-founding Robinhood, now a public company that has helped over 20 million Americans access the financial system. Cowboy Space Corporation has raised ~$365 million from Index Ventures, Interlagos, Construct Ventures, Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz, NEA, and others.

This is an ambitious mission that demands extraordinary talent. Cowboy Space Corporation's team has worked at places like SpaceX, Blue Origin, Stoke Space, Astranis and NASA. If you're ready to solve complex technical challenges and help build the most important energy company in the world, we want to hear from you.

About the Role

Cowboy Space is looking for an Executive & Corporate Communications Partner to shape and amplify the voices of the CEO and members of the executive team, and to own the company’s corporate and internal communications.

You will work directly with senior leaders to communicate the company’s mission, technical progress, and long-term vision. You will develop distinct executive narratives, identify opportunities for meaningful visibility, and prepare our leaders for interviews, podcasts, speaking engagements, and other important public moments.

Your focus will be the positioning, voice, and effectiveness of our executives. This requires excellent writing, sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, and the confidence to challenge and sharpen ideas. You will help each leader communicate authentically while reinforcing a clear and consistent company narrative. You will also own corporate communications - press releases, announcements, and company messaging - and internal communications to employees, keeping all three tightly aligned.

Responsibilities

Executive Communications

  • Build and lead a communications roadmap for the CEO and members of the executive team, strengthening their individual profiles as leaders in space technology.

  • Act as a trusted strategic advisor, shaping key messages and maintaining narrative consistency across interviews, podcasts, speaking engagements, and public appearances.

  • Develop and continually refine each executive’s personal and professional narrative, translating the company’s mission and vision into a compelling individual voice.

  • Identify and position executives for relevant speaking engagements, interviews, podcasts, and other opportunities.

  • Develop talking points, briefing materials, presentations, and preparation plans for executive appearances.

  • Conduct preparation sessions, anticipate difficult questions, and coordinate follow up after appearances.

  • Monitor executive visibility against company priorities and recommend new audiences, channels, and formats, using share-of-voice, coverage, and engagement metrics, that can amplify each leader’s voice.

Corporate Communications

  • Own corporate communications: draft and manage press releases, media statements, and messaging for company milestones, partnerships, and major announcements.

  • Own the company’s social and organic channels (e.g., LinkedIn, X, YouTube) to grow audience and reinforce positioning.

  • Own the strategy for the company website and other digital properties.

  • Maintain a consistent company narrative across executive and corporate channels, in partnership with the Head of Marketing & Communications.

Media Relations

  • Coordinate with external communications partners on media strategy, proactive pitches, inbound opportunities, and journalist relationships.

  • Build and maintain direct relationships with reporters and editors across space, technology, business, and policy media.

Alignment, Issues & Cross-functional

  • Ensure executive and corporate positioning is accurate, timely, and consistent with the company’s broader messaging.

  • Partner closely with the Head of Marketing, to whom this role reports, to align executive communications with company positioning, milestones, campaigns, and events.

  • Provide clear and thoughtful communications guidance during sensitive or rapidly evolving situations, including issues and crisis response.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of experience in executive communications, corporate communications, journalism, speechwriting, public affairs, or a related field.

  • Experience advising and supporting founders, chief executives, or other senior leaders.

  • Experience managing social media accounts.

  • Exceptional writing, editing, interviewing, and message development skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to capture an executive’s authentic voice.

  • Experience preparing senior leaders for media interviews, speaking engagements, and other prominent appearances.

  • Experience writing corporate communications materials such as press releases, company announcements, and internal or all-hands messaging.

  • Strong editorial judgment, discretion, and comfort working with confidential information.

  • Ability to quickly understand complex technical subjects and communicate them accurately.

  • Confidence to provide candid and constructive guidance to senior executives.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in speechwriting, journalism, public policy, or long form editorial work.

  • Experience developing the public profile of a founder or senior executive.

  • Familiarity with technology, business, space, or policy media.

  • Experience working with external communications agencies and media partners.

  • Experience evaluating speaking engagements, interviews, podcasts, and other visibility opportunities.

  • Experience supporting sensitive or reputation critical communications.

  • Experience owning corporate or internal communications in addition to executive communications.

  • Genuine curiosity about spacecraft, computing infrastructure, and the emerging orbital economy.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $135,800 – $153,473 annually. The actual base salary offered will depend on factors such as job-related skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
