About the role

Due to strong growth in several territories and due to expansion in our customer base, we are looking for a colleague to join us as a Field Application Engineer in USA. The role will focus on maintaining and enhancing customer satisfaction and experience with the Distran products as part of the after-sales process, by implementing an effective delivery of customer training and technical support.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Organize and conduct product trainings for customers, either at customers’ sites in the US, or remotely. Ensure technical training programs fit customer needs s – discuss and understand customer’s detailed technical requirements, assess specific questions and adapt the necessary training delivery approach.
  • Conduct internal product and application trainings for the Distran Business Development team and Distributors. Ensure that the sales organization in the US is properly trained and up-to-date on the latest product modifications and camera usages.
  • Ensure high quality technical support to customers.
  • Provide technical assistance to the Business Development team during the customers´ qualification stage, demonstrations or general meetings with potential customers.
  • Collect information about end-user applications, and develop new applications for our cameras if necessary.
  • Synthesize and share information collected at customer sites about operational market intelligence.

Your profile 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Physics, Chemistry or related
  • Previous experience in a similar role. Specifically, previous experience in technical customer support and/or client training
  • Good technical writing skills are mandatory
  • Proven experience in training delivery to different audience sizes, in person and virtually (from small groups to approx. 50 participants)
  • Experience in training design and development – concept and materials
  • Good knowledge of MS Office is mandatory
  • Previous technical and/or scientific publications are a plus
  • Good project management skills
  • Ability to work across levels, functions, and geographies
  • Service orientation, customer focus and drive to help others
  • Resourcefulness and solid problem-solving skills
  • Emotional intelligence, composure, and ability to deal with customer requests in a diplomatic way
  • Good organizational skills and flexibility. Ability to work under pressure and to handle multiple tasks with competing priorities and deadlines
  • EPA regulations knowledge is a plus
  • Languages: fluent in English. Spanish would be a plus
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time
  • Driving license
