This position will be responsible for supporting KeyCorp’s CASTA submission including maintaining and documenting FP&A’s portfolio of non-models; aligning with subject matter experts on forecast assumptions; completing review and challenge with second line of defense team; presenting forecast outcomes to relevant stakeholders; submitting final forecasts; and supporting the continuous improvement of the existing process.Strong partnering skills and effective communication are integral competencies of this position as an individual in this role will be working closely with senior leadership. Candidate must be comfortable working in a fast paced and dynamic environment with ability to provide solutions and analysis with limited direction at times.

Essential Job Functions
 

Financial Management

  • In partnership with other members in the FP&A team, orchestrates an efficient and effective financial forecasting and management process for the company
  • Enables leaders to leverage results and forecast information to make strategic decisions effectively and timely
  • Development and deployment of tools to enable evaluation of Key’s performance across a range of conditions
  • Understand macroeconomic factors that impacts the business and connect the trends to the financials and the performance of the business
  • Utilizes analytics to create linkages across different client sets to provide insight into profitability and behavior across Key’s various business units
  • Provides perspective on external benchmarks to business performance and strategic positioning

Financial Strategy

  • Contributes actively to the financial management of KeyCorp – aiding in strategic decisions in partnership with the Executive Leadership Team
  • Participation in the development and management of a fluid set of actionable levers for the CFO with respect to the financial management of KeyCorp
  • Development and communication of clear and transparent guidance for individual business leaders and CFOs with respect to their contributions to KeyCorp’s overall standing

Partner Management

  • Strategic partner to the CFO, Line of Business CFOs, and other finance teams
  • Partners with the Line of Business, Finance and Corporate Treasury teams to provide insight and transparency into performance relative to strategic priorities and key performance metrics

Talent development

  • Actively contribute to the ongoing development of capabilities within the FP&A team, including (but not limited to) the analysts that report to this role
  • Drive a strong team culture and work environment, develop highly skilled talent, and position FP&A as a desired destination for top talent

Continuous Improvement

  • Provides support around month-end close including variance analysis and impact to future performance
  • Proactively seeks out opportunities to eliminate inefficient or redundant activities and reporting
  • Continuously identifies areas where manual processes can be transformed to automated or self-service activities
  • Supports Finance initiatives as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (Finance, Accounting or related field)
  • 5+ years of diverse analytical experience in Finance, preferably with exposure to banking and CASTA
  • Proven leader with experience working on a high performing team
  • Organized self-starter with the ability to think and work independently and creatively
  • Ability to anticipate questions and proactively develop materials or analysis
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish solid working relationships with multiple teams and individuals with varying levels of expertise
  • Proven team player, willing to assist others as needed to ensure that group deadlines are met and quality standards achieved
  • Detail oriented with the ability to thoroughly analyze and resolve issues with limited direction
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access and PowerPoint)
  • Experience working with financial system reporting environments (i.e., Workday Financials, Adaptive Planning, Essbase, IBM TM1 or Cognos, etc.)
  • Experience with tools such as Tableau, SQL, etc. preferred

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $110,000 to $120,000 annually depending on location and job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
