CampusWorks is looking for Financial Aid Consultants to assist our higher education clients in strengthening their financial aid operations and enhancing the student experience. These individuals will use their subject matter expertise in financial aid to guide clients in adopting best practices and maximize the use of the technology to support the financial aid operations and help clients achieve their goals. The consulting engagements may be remote or on-site and can include serving as an interim Financial Aid Director, leading a Business Process Review project, or optimizing the institution’s financial aid system.
This individual will work collaboratively with our clients to streamline the financial aid operations and ensure compliance, train new users, and/or ensure the operations are leveraging fully the financial aid ERP functionality. These roles can be full-time or contract consultant (1099) opportunities. Please specify your preference in the application.
CampusWorks consultants engage with our clients in higher education to assist them in fully leveraging their people, processes, policies, and technologies. We work collaboratively with clients’ functional and technical teams and our CampusWorks colleagues to evaluate current processes, design future-state optimal processes, and to architect, develop, test, train, and rollout process and technical solutions that delight our clients.
A hybrid presence may be required with frequent travel to client locations.
Responsibilities
- Serving as Interim Financial Aid Director and providing day-to-day leadership of the financial aid department staff
- Providing oversight, direction, guidance, and coordination of the current financial aid projects and priorities
- Assessing the efficiency of the financial aid/student accounts department
- Providing financial aid consulting to higher education clients on a variety of financial aid topics/challenges
- Guiding clients through financial aid regulatory issues
- Designing and delivering training
- Assisting clients in how to best align policy, process, procedures, and personnel to effectively leverage financial aid solutions
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change and the full adoption of technology to enable organizational operations and efficiency
- 5+ years’ experience in all aspects of college student financial aid is required with a deep understanding of financial aid administration, Title IV programs, and regulatory compliance
- Experience as a Director, Associate, or Assistant Director of a program at a college or university
- Experience with highly automated financial aid management systems and Financial Aid ERP software, including hands-on experience and the ability to configure and set up the features and functions the software provides and training end users in the appropriate use
- Solid leadership skills, including facilitating diverse groups, creating consensus building and preparing the organization and individuals for change and ongoing continuous improvement
- Financial Aid business process and operations review experience, including reviewing and recommending policy changes, staffing, and organizational alignment changes, and realignment of roles and responsibilities when appropriate
- Demonstration of superior communication skills and the ability to provide a consultative approach to end clients
