JOB PURPOSE:
The Financial Analyst conducts and documents complex financial analysis reports. This position develops and coordinates complex budget projects and processes and provides variance analysis, modeling and forecasting services for senior management. Facilitates ongoing business processes by enhancing communication and coordination between various functional areas.
QualificationsESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinates the program budgeting and strategic planning process, develops and executes policies and procedures, trains and assists budget participants, communicates with management, analyzes data, and provides recommendations based on program goals and executive directions.
- Monitors program budgets, expenditures, variances, analyzes trends, and assists management and staff with forecasting and funding needs.
- Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Performs program efficiency reviews: tracks grant allocation and spending to ensure funds are used appropriately and develops and makes recommendations to management regarding program decisions based on knowledge of funders' goals and financial viability.
- Analyzes accounting records to determine financial resources required to implement programs and makes recommendations for budget allocations to ensure conformance to budgetary limits.
- Develops integrated revenue/expense analyses, projections, reports, and presentations. Prepares detailed annual financial budget and monthly financial forecasts.
- Assists leadership with grant application budgets and annual program budgets.
- Provides guidance to Program Directors regarding budget management.
- Creates, updates, and analyzes reports and ensures financial information has been recorded accurately.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships and public relations.
- Facilitates interdepartmental teamwork.
- Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field. Proficient PC skills in the use of Microsoft Office products. Preferred: Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE) experience. Prior employment in non-profit and/or social service fields.
EXPERIENCE: With Bachelor’s degree, four years' experience performing financial analysis, to include budget coordination, strategic planning, business analysis, or related activities. With Master’s degree, two years' related experience.
ATTENDANCE: Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer’s sole discretion.
LICENSES: Driver’s License with clear record.
VEHICLE: Must have daily use of a vehicle without prior notice.
OTHER: Must be available and willing to travel to various locations and with such frequency as the business need dictates.
