We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Controller / Senior Accounting Manager to lead our financial operations and drive growth within our organization. Responsibilities
- Manage all day-to-day accounting operations
- Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements
- Maintain the general ledger and account reconciliations
- Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
- Monitor cash flow and assist with cash management
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Prepare executive financial reports and variance analyses
- Manage accounting for multiple clinic locations
- Perform intercompany accounting and reconciliations
- Coordinate annual audits and tax support
- Develop, improve, and document accounting policies and internal controls
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiencies
- Collaborate with Operations, Billing, HR, and Executive Leadership
- Coordinate external audits, manage audit documentation, and address any findings or recommendations promptly.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in financial software systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms; leverage Excel data analysis skills for detailed financial insights.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting analysis to support strategic planning efforts.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to governmental and nonprofit accounting standards.
- Lead a high-performing finance team by managing daily operations, providing mentorship, and fostering professional development.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Controller or Senior Accounting Manager with a strong background in corporate accounting environments.
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance, and governmental/non-profit accounting standards.
- Strong proficiency in financial software such as QuickBooks, advanced Excel data analysis skills are essential.
- Comfortable learning and optimizing healthcare software platforms such as CentralReach
- Comfortable using emerging technologies, including AI-enabled business tools, automation platforms, and advanced financial software to improve productivity and reporting.
- Experience with financial report writing, regulatory compliance accounting, balance sheet reconciliation, and financial close processing.
- Experience identifying opportunities for automation and process improvement
- Ability to analyze data and create meaningful financial dashboards for leadership
- Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to both technical teams and executive leadership.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA preferred but not required
- Healthcare or multi-location accounting experience
- Experience with CentralReach or similar healthcare software
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting
- Experience documenting internal controls and improving accounting processes
