DNAM Brands is a family-owned and operated company that owns and licenses a portfolio of globally recognized fashion and lifestyle brands, including Von Dutch, Ed Hardy, Valentino Orlandi, Allbirds, Badgley Mischka, and more. We are seeking to hire a full-time Financial Controller for DNAM Brands.In this role, you will own the core financial infrastructure of the business, overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls across our portfolio of brands. You will be responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, building scalable processes, and providing visibility into the company’s financial performance.

This is a highly hands-on role suited for someone who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and is comfortable building and improving systems as the business grows. You will play a key role in supporting leadership with financial insights and ensuring the company operates with strong financial discipline.

In this role, you will oversee and drive performance across:

  • Accounting operations & financial reporting
  • Month-end and year-end close processes
  • Financial controls & compliance
  • Cash flow management & forecasting
  • Systems, processes, and financial infrastructure

You will partner closely with leadership, Operations, and Sales teams to ensure alignment between financial performance and business activity.

This role requires strong technical accounting expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to operate both strategically and tactically.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end accounting function, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Prepare financial statements, reports, and supporting analyses for leadership
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Manage cash flow, forecasting, and working capital planning
  • Oversee inventory accounting and ensure alignment with warehouse and operations teams
  • Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
  • Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors
  • Implement and improve accounting systems, tools, and workflows
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and operational efficiency

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of accounting or finance experience, with prior experience as a Controller or Senior Accounting Manager preferred
  • Experience in consumer, e-commerce, retail, or fashion environments strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
  • Experience managing full-cycle accounting, including AP, AR, and general ledger
  • Proven ability to build and improve financial processes and internal controls
  • Experience with accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar)
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modeling
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to operate independently and take ownership
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous environments and building structure where needed
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
