Facet was founded in 2016 on the belief that objective, personalized financial advice is essential to living well. Our mission is to empower people to live more enriched lives by delivering a new standard of advice. By removing asset minimums, we provide holistic planning that goes far beyond investments to address every way money impacts life. Our team of CFP® professionals are at the core of our service and are empowered by our best-in-class support teams and proprietary technology platform. This model allows Facet to integrate advice into our members’ entire financial picture—all for an affordable, flat membership fee.

Our commitment to innovation and member success has earned national recognition, including being ranked the #1 Best Financial Advisory Firm 2025 by USA TODAY and named to Newsweek’s list of America’s Top Financial Advisory Firms 2025. With an A+ BBB Rating and a Trustpilot “Excellent” score (as of Sept. 16, 2025), we are proud to be redefining the industry for our members and our team alike.

Why Facet? The Future of Financial Planning

The Financial Planner role at Facet is unlike any other in the industry. We’ve stripped away the "old way" of doing business—no cold calling, no commission-chasing, and no mountains of paperwork. We’ve created a role focused entirely on why you became a planner in the first place: to hone your craft and change lives.

What Makes This Role Different?
  • Mentorship & Growth: Learn from CFP® professionals and Senior Planners while honing your craft.
  • Sell Life Change, Not Products: We’ve eliminated the pressure of business development. You aren’t a salesperson for a fund; you are a catalyst for behavior change. Because we utilize a flat-fee model (not AUM-based), your advice is always objective. If a member should pay down debt instead of investing, that’s exactly what you’ll tell them.
  • Focus on the Member, Not Paperwork: We’ve built a proprietary, AI-enabled tech stack and a dedicated support ecosystem (Trading & Operations, Planner Support, and Member Experience) to take the administrative burden off your plate. You don't gather onboarding data or execute trades; you build relationships.
  • Join a Movement: We operate with a "One Facet" mentality—a flat, non-hierarchical structure that eliminates silos. You aren't just joining a company; you’re joining a community of growth-seekers redefining an underserved industry.
Your Day-to-Day Impact & Responsibilities
  • Review incoming member messages while Senior Planners are out of office to determine the urgency of requests and the best course of action.
  • Manage a small group of members as the primary planner, guiding them through the entire planning process.
  • Efficiently synthesize member needs and partner with Trading and Investment Operations to coordinate solutions and tax strategies.
  • Become an expert on our proprietary, AI-enabled tech stack to build comprehensive plans.
  • Guide Foundations members through plan implementation using messaging and in-house tools to inspire action.
  • Ruthlessly manage your calendar and time to ensure an efficient, high-quality experience.
Who You Are
  • A Passionate Advocate: You love helping people reach their goals and thrive when working with the support of in-house tools.
  • A Relationship Builder: You can quickly build trust and rapport, guiding members to take action on unbiased recommendations.
  • Adaptable & Organized: You are process-oriented and not afraid of the hard work that comes with disrupting a legacy industry.
  • A Tech Champion: You fully embrace technology and AI-driven tools to enhance the member experience in a remote environment.

Requirements
  • CFP® designation
  • 1+ years of member facing financial planning experience
  • Effective follow up and typing/written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build connections with members
  • Exceptional time management and communication skills –these are the biggest keys to success as a Facet reserve planner
  • Excellent computer skills and the ability to learn in-house software and tools

Benefits
  • $95,000-$110,000 base salary + bonus
  • Equity (ISO): it is important to us that all employees are shareholders in our mission
  • Flexible PTO
  • All the benefits: medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with employer match, short and long term disability coverage (paid by Facet), life insurance options and paid parental leave
  • Certification reimbursement program
  • Work from anywhere in the US

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
