This is a highly visible role that partners closely with the CFO, Controller, and department leaders to inform key decisions and optimize financial performance.

Because of our size and growth stage, you’ll wear many hats—ranging from hands-on financial modeling to strategic decision support. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced startup environment, communicates clearly, and balances being collaborative with being independent and self-directed. • Gain broad exposure across new product launches and scaling initiatives.

What You'll Do
  • Own FP&A Processes: Lead the company’s annual budget, quarterly reforecasts, and long-range planning.
  • Financial Modeling: Build and maintain dynamic models to evaluate business scenarios, product line economics, and investment opportunities.
  • Performance Analysis: Track KPIs and variance to plan; provide actionable insights to executives and stakeholders.
  • Business Partnering: Work directly with department leaders to support strategic initiatives, optimize spend, and improve ROI.
  • Board & Leadership Reporting: Prepare materials and analysis for executive and board meetings.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a trusted advisor to product, marketing, sales, and operations leaders.
  • Process & Tools: Improve FP&A processes, tools, and reporting to enable scalable and timely insights.

Our job descriptions evolve with our business needs and priorities. In addition to the description above, your role may include additional tasks, projects and team support as needed.

Skills You Bring
  • Experience: 6–10+ years in FP&A, corporate finance, or related fields, ideally in a high-growth SaaS or technology environment.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets and strong modeling ability, with appetite to and ideally experience with implementing AI workflows to increase efficiency.
    • Expertise in reading/writing SQL at the level to, at minimum, interpret queries and ensure consistency of information,
    • Experience using BI tools to create alternate dashboards within existing database parameters/definitions (time frame, aggregation rather than filtering, creating new views based on existing definitions.)
  • Business Acumen: Strong grasp of SaaS metrics, unit economics, and financial levers that drive growth.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent communicator who can present financial insights to both finance and non-finance audiences.
    • Highly collaborative partner who builds trust across the business.
    • Proactive problem solver with a solutions-first mindset.
    • Comfortable working independently in a dynamic, entrepreneurial setting.
  • Mindset: Low-ego, versatile and adaptable, and eager to contribute across levels and functions.

Qualities You Practice

These encompass our guiding principles and startup culture competencies:

  • Take full ownership and accountability: Drives projects from idea to execution, with pride, urgency, and a “do what it takes” mentality.
  • Collaborate with clarity, candor, and respect: Communicate openly and courageously, offer and receive feedback well, and build trust through transparency and reliable partnership.

  • Bring a versatile, proactive mindset: Adapt to evolving needs, anticipate challenges, take initiative, be resourceful, and embrace opportunities to achieve high quality results.
  • Innovate and learn fast: Experiment, learn from failure, and seek opportunities to introduce new methods or diverse ways of achieving results.
  • Engage in healthy debate and commit as a team: Contribute ideas, challenge constructively, and align quickly for decisive action.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
