As our Follow Up Associate, you will help ­­improve revenue cycle outcomes for our clients by following up on unresolved commercial and Medicare HMO claims. Every day you will investigate and work to resolve denied claims by reading and interpreting EOBs and accessing claim information through hospital and payer portals. To thrive in this role, you must have experience working in a hospital revenue cycle position where you demonstrated analytical, fact-finding, problem-solving and organizational skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.


Here’s what you will experience working as a Follow Up Associate:

  • Investigate and examine denied medical claims utilizing knowledge of medical terminology, diagnostic and procedure codes, and commercial and Medicare HMO payers.

  • Read and interpret expected reimbursement information from EOBs; learn legal parameters pertaining to state and federal law

  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to resolve unpaid claims and adverse benefit determinations; obtain all pertinent information in a timely manner

  • Maintain productivity and quality standards and follow all HIPAA and confidentiality requirements

Required Skills:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

  • Work experience in a hospital setting where you gained knowledge of health insurance and medical claims billing

  • Ability to learn new processes, make informed, complex decisions, and work both independently and as part of a team

  • Computer savvy including the ability to navigate proprietary software, payer portals, and Excel spreadsheets

For this US-based position, the base pay range is $15.45 - $24.29 per hour . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
