Forum's Venture Studio is a leading early-stage fund and program for B2B SaaS startups. Starting a company is demanding, complex, and psychologically challenging. As former founders and early-stage operators, we understand firsthand that Founders need support, honest feedback, and someone who truly cares in their corner.

Our mission is to make the journey easier and more successful for Founders, and we've achieved this by making over 350+ seed investments that have raised $600M+ in follow-on funding. Forum founders have gone on to raise from funds like Andreessen Horowitz, NEA, Uncork Capital, 8VC, Founders Fund, Menlo Ventures, Canaan, Bowery Capital, Susa Ventures, SV Angel, and more.

We’re looking for a Founder/CEO to invest in who will lead in building an AI-native law firm that delivers faster, more affordable legal services through AI-driven workflows.

What are we exploring?
The legal industry is undergoing a transformation as LLMs streamline time-consuming tasks like research, intake, and document drafting. Traditional firms, structured around billable hours and legacy operations, are falling behind, especially when it comes to serving startups and tech-forward companies that need agile, AI-first legal solutions.

We believe the future of legal services lies in AI-native firms built to automate and outperform legacy workflows, from contract review to compliance and legal intake. Forum is uniquely positioned to build this firm, with a portfolio of 400+ startups and a network of thousands of VCs we have direct access to customers hungry for innovative, and scalable legal services.

Forum directs and accelerates the Founder path by:

  • A $250K USD investment with you as majority shareholder, and an end-to-end fundraising playbook and network to raise your seed and Series A

  • Providing a vetted business idea and business model in a large market

  • The support of our experienced operating team - from business design, product development, growth, recruitment, legal and more

  • Executing a winning GTM strategy to get you to 50-100K ARR, and the right MVP to ensure early traction

  • A community full of mentors, peers, and leaders

  • $100K worth of business perks

What you bring:

  • Deep understanding of legal workflows or operations — whether through experience in law, legaltech, compliance, or process-heavy industries

  • Strong product or technical background with experience applying AI/LLMs to unstructured data, document processing, or workflow automation

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with zero-to-one execution skills and the ability to build and iterate quickly in early-stage, high-ambiguity environments

  • Clear vision for how to disrupt legacy legal models — with the ability to reimagine service delivery, pricing, and user experience using AI as the foundation

  • A collaborative approach, with the capability to build partnerships across technical and non-technical teams

  • A desire to be a venture-backed founder

  • Ability to collaborate in North American time zones

Please note, this is not an employment opportunity with Forum Ventures.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
