About CueBox

CueBox is a fast-growing startup building a modern, all-in-one ticketing, fundraising, and marketing CRM software for performing arts organizations. Theaters, symphonies, operas, ballets, choruses, and performing arts centers are vital to their communities — but most are stuck running on antiquated technology that gets in the way of doing their best work.

CueBox changes that. Our software directly grows our customers' revenue (ticketing and donations), improves the patron and donor experience, and gives staff their time back from manual work. We have a growing customer base across the US who genuinely love the product, and we're looking to expand the team that gets CueBox in front of more arts organizations.

CueBox works with orgs across the US including El Paso Symphony, HERE Arts Center in NYC and more. One of the music orgs that CueBox works with increased ticket sales by >30% and ticket donations by 5x in several months after switching over to CueBox.

Role Overview

We're hiring our founding business development representatives (BDRs) to drive the top of our sales funnel. You'll own outbound prospecting into performing arts organizations across the US — building lists, running multi-channel outreach, qualifying inbound leads, and booking discovery calls for our sales team. This is a high-impact role at a small and fast-moving company: your work directly shapes pipeline and revenue, you’ll partner directly with our CEO/co-founder, and you'll have the opportunity to grow into an account executive role.

Compensation & Location

Compensation: $80,000-90,000 OTE ($50,000-60,000 base), uncapped commission

We are open to remote candidates based in the US. For NYC, you can come into our office located in the Financial District.

What You’ll Do
  • Run outbound prospecting campaigns (cold emails, calls, LinkedIn outreaches) into performing arts organizations
    • Continuously test and improve outreach: subject lines, sequences, talk tracks and more
  • Build outbound prospecting lists by using a range of different sources (including industry lists, industry database, online web research, sales tools) for cold outreach
  • Research target accounts and personalize outreach to the executive decision makers and key influencers (fundraising, marketing, box office)
    • Understand customers’ key goals and pain points to conduct effective initial cold calls and write relevant outbound messages
  • Book discovery meetings for the sales team, with clean handoffs and context
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in our CRM and sales engagement tools (Hubspot)
  • Hit and exceed monthly activity and meeting targets
  • Attend industry conferences and events to showcase CueBox
  • Share what you're hearing from prospects with leadership — your feedback will shape our roadmap
What We're Looking For
  • 1–2+ years of BDR/SDR experience in B2B software sales, with a track record of hitting or exceeding quota
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Comfort on the phone and confidence with cold-calling
  • Organized and self-motivated — you can manage your own pipeline, follow-ups, and time without close supervision
  • Genuinely curious about prospects' businesses and CueBox’s product
  • Good at asking questions and listening
  • Resilient and coachable
  • Experience with modern sales tools
  • Bachelor's degree
  • (Bonus) Experience selling into SMB or mid-market
  • (Bonus) Experience selling into nonprofits or education verticals
  • (Bonus) Personal arts/music-related experience or interest
Additional Information
  • Opportunity to grow to account executive role
  • Product & industry training bootcamp to help BDR ramp
  • Interview process:
    • Introductory call
    • Mock written assignment & mock cold call
    • Final round interview
Benefits
  • $80,000-90,000 OTE ($50,000-60,000 base)
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Competitive equity package
  • Complimentary one-medical membership
  • 401k

Note: We do not offer visa sponsorship at this time.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
