At Foxelli Group, we're not just leading the digital marketplace - we're redefining it. With 10 years of experience and a portfolio of thriving direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands generating over $20 million USD annually, we’re pushing boundaries to achieve our next growth milestone.

We don’t do boring. Our mission is to make crafting fun, fearless, and refreshingly modern — and that includes sewing. With our sewing-focused subscription, we’re bringing bold, beginner-friendly projects to makers who want to create something real with their hands (and a machine).

We’re looking for a Freelance Sewing Specialist who can design cool projects and write instructions that don’t make people want to cry.

THE ROLE

You’ll create small-scale sewing projects that look great and are actually doable. Think totes, pouches, home décor, and wearable accessories — anything fun and functional. It’ll also break down the process into clear, no-nonsense instructions for every skill level.

Ideally, you’re comfortable writing patterns for all three difficulty levels – beginner, intermediate, and advanced.

Beginner – for the “what’s a seam allowance?” crowd
Intermediate – for confident crafters
Advanced – for the “don’t bore me” crew

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Design original sewing projects for Mrs. Quilty. boxes

  • Write clean, step-by-step instructions for the Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced versions of each project

  • Provide clear materials lists, templates, measurements, stitch types, and finishing instructions

  • Make sure your patterns are easy to follow, frustration-free, and typo-proof

  • Respect deadlines — no drama, no ghosting

WHO YOU ARE

  • You’re a skilled sewist with experience creating your own patterns and projects

  • You know how to explain things clearly — like you’re talking to a smart friend, not a robot

  • You’re reliable, organized, and take feedback like a pro

  • Bonus if you can format patterns, make diagrams, or record short clips (but not required)

💸 COMPENSATION

  • Freelance / per pattern

  • Competitive pay depending on scope and experience

🚀 HOW TO APPLY

Send us:

  • A short intro: who you are + what makes you a good fit for this role.

  • 1–2 sewing pattern samples or examples of your work

  • IG, portfolio, or photos of past projects

Let’s make something awesome — and help people fall in love with sewing for real.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
