We’re Jubilee Media.

At Jubilee, we're on a mission to provoke understanding and create human connection. We explore experiences that push people to feel more, think more, and see more in others. We challenge the belief of a black-and-white world, and instead embrace the complexity and richness of our experiences. By magnifying these stories we can discover personal identities, shared truths, and how we fit in the overarching human story. People are at the heart of everything we do, and we're looking for the next passionate teammate to join us on this journey. Together, we have the power to shift perspectives—and maybe even change the world.

About This Role
As our Freelance UI/UX Designer, you'll do more than execute tickets. We're looking for someone with sharp taste and strong instincts! Someone who pays attention to where mobile product design is headed and can bring that fresh perspective into the work. In this role you’ll collaborate closely with the product lead to design new features, refine existing flows, and push the visual and interaction direction for our nectar dating app! We want you to feel comfortable saying, “This could be better,” and then showing us how.
This is a long-term freelance engagement, 10 to 15 hours per week.

What You’ll Do:

  • Designing mobile UX flows for new features and experiments
  • Creating thoughtful wireframes and highly polished UI in Figma
  • Elevating visual systems and suggesting modern interaction patterns
  • Designing monetization features that feel seamless and native to the experience
  • Contributing to and refining our design system
  • Bringing references and inspiration from emerging consumer and social apps
  • Prototyping and exploring motion when it adds clarity or delight

Who You Are:

  • 1 to 5 years of UI/UX experience with strong visual instincts
  • A portfolio that shows modern mobile design and attention to detail
  • Clear understanding of how Gen Z users think, scroll, and decide
  • Ability to balance clean UX with expressive, current UI
  • Strong Figma skills
  • Clear communication and reliability in a remote environment

Nice to haves:

  • Experience designing consumer, social, or dating apps
  • Motion, animation, or micro-interaction samples
  • Experience evolving a design system
  • A point of view on what feels fresh versus dated in mobile apps

Compensation & Perks

  • Competitive Compensation  –  $40-$80 an hour
  • Dynamic and fun team environment
  • Opportunity to grow alongside a scaling product

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
