The Role
We are seeking a talented Front-End Engineer - AI-First to join our small but growing engineering team. In this role, you’ll own the user-facing product: deliver polished, high-performance interfaces, leverage AI-driven tools to accelerate development, and partner with product and design to turn complex enterprise workflows into intuitive front-end experiences.
What You’ll Do
Build responsive, accessible, and scalable UIs using modern front-end technologies (e.g. React, Next.js, TypeScript).
Develop and maintain a shared component library or design system, supporting consistency across the product.
Integrate with backend APIs / services (REST / SSE / GraphQL) to fetch and render data; ensure smooth communication between frontend and backend
Use AI-first tooling (e.g. AI-assisted code generation, automated refactoring, AI-assisted testing / linting / code review) to boost developer productivity and maintain high code quality. (Given our AI-savvy culture — this is core to the role.)
Collaborate closely with Product and Design teams to translate UX/wireframes into production-ready, user-friendly features.
Optimize performance, cross-browser compatibility, and accessibility (responsive layouts, fast load times, smooth interactions).
Write clean, maintainable, testable code; participate in code reviews; help define front-end architecture and best practices.
What We’re Looking For
Required / Core Skills
Several years of professional front-end engineering experience (or equivalent), with hands-on experience in modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks (e.g. React, Next.js)
Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS (or CSS-in-JS / styling solutions), responsive design, and front-end fundamentals (DOM, browser behavior, layout, performance).
Experience integrating with APIs (REST / GraphQL) and working alongside backend teams.
Experience with realtime, streaming AI-first components.
Good understanding of UI/UX principles, and comfort collaborating with designers to implement wireframes/mockups.
High code quality standards — clean, maintainable, testable code; familiarity with version control (e.g. Git), testing, CI/CD workflows.
Desire to embrace AI-augmented engineering workflows — comfortable exploring / adopting AI tools to accelerate UI development, refactoring, testing, or component generation.
Nice-to-Have / Preferred
Experience building conversational or chat-based applications, including managing complex multi-turn conversation state and dynamic message flows, similar to ChatGPT-style interactions.
Experience building or contributing to design systems / component libraries
Experience with TypeScript (or willingness to adopt it)
Familiarity with performance optimization, accessibility (a11y), cross-browser support, and responsive design at scale
Experience working in a fast-moving startup / AI-driven product environment
Strong communication skills — able to articulate UI constraints, tradeoffs, and collaborate across cross-functional teams
You’ll shape the entire front-end experience of a next-gen SaaS product — from UI design to deployment
You’ll be at the forefront of a modern “AI-first” engineering culture: using AI tools to 10× your productivity, ship faster, and craft better user experiences
You’ll get to work closely with Product and Design, influencing how complex features are surfaced and used by real customers
You’ll help build scalable, maintainable UI architecture that will grow with our product
