Role Summary

We are seeking a Frontend Developer to design and build production-grade user interfaces for next-generation cybersecurity and data-intensive platforms. The role is centered on translating design specifications into responsive, high-quality web applications, with emphasis on data-dense views, interactive dashboards, and workflows that make large and complex datasets understandable and actionable.

As part of cross-functional teams, you will work closely with product designers, backend engineers, and data engineers to deliver custom UIs from input designs (mockups and prototypes). Our projects operate across the spectrum of frontend engineering, applied AI, and cybersecurity, where the interface is often the primary way users explore findings, prioritize risk, and drive decisions. As part of this role you will help shape products that are usable, performant, and visually polished.

Key Responsibilities

  • UI Development & Design Implementation
  • Translate design specifications and prototypes (e.g., Figma) into pixel-accurate, responsive web interfaces
  • Build reusable, well-structured components and maintain a consistent design system across the product
  • Implement data-dense views such as inventories, detail pages, and interactive dashboards
  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility, responsiveness, and accessibility across the application
  • Data Visualization & Interaction
  • Build interactive tables, filters, and visualizations for large structured and semi-structured datasets
  • Integrate charting and visualization libraries (such as ECharts, D3, or Recharts) for analytics and reporting views
  • Apply techniques such as virtualization, pagination, and lazy loading to keep data-heavy views performant
  • Contribute to conversational and natural language query interfaces where AI-assisted features intersect with the UI
  • API Integration & State Management
  • Integrate frontend applications with REST/GraphQL backends and streaming endpoints
  • Design predictable state management and data fetching, caching, and synchronization strategies
  • Handle loading, error, and empty states gracefully for a robust user experience
  • Quality & Performance
  • Optimize rendering performance, bundle size, and load times across the application
  • Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for frontend components and user flows
  • Participate in code reviews and uphold maintainable, well-documented frontend code
  • Collaboration & Delivery
  • Work closely with designers to refine UX and close the loop between design and implementation
  • Translate requirements from product and engineering teams into robust frontend solutions
  • Contribute to PoCs, demos, and integration pilots, and support knowledge transfer with internal and partner teams

Minimum Qualifications

  • BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 4+ years of experience in frontend or full-stack development, with a strong focus on the frontend.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, and modern HTML5 and CSS3.
  • Hands-on experience with a modern component-based framework (React preferred; Vue or Angular also considered).
  • Proven experience translating design mockups and prototypes into production-quality interfaces.
  • Solid understanding of responsive design, cross-browser behavior, and web accessibility.
  • Experience integrating with REST or GraphQL APIs and managing application state.
  • Familiarity with modern frontend build tooling and version control with Git.
  • Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in English and excellent communication skills.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience building data-dense interfaces, operational dashboards, or analytics tooling.
  • Familiarity with data visualization libraries (D3, ECharts, Recharts) and large-table performance techniques.
  • Experience with design systems and component libraries (e.g., Storybook).
  • Exposure to BI / analytics platforms such as Superset, including embedding or extending their UIs.
  • Experience building chat or conversational UIs for AI / LLM-powered features.
  • Knowledge of security concepts or experience working on cybersecurity products.
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker), container orchestration (K8s), and CI/CD workflows (e.t. Github Actions).
  • Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Playwright, Cypress) and frontend observability.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
