- Support the development of satellite command and control, mission planning, and data processing software systems using Elixir/Phoenix and TypeScript/React
- Contribute to team discussions on architecture, design, and code reviews
- Collaborate with engineers across disciplines to build effective systems
- Take on well-scoped tasks and features with guidance from experienced engineers
- Write tests and follow established testing practices to maintain code quality
- Pursuing or recently completed a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
- Exposure to functional programming concepts through coursework, personal projects, or prior experience
- Introductory experience with Elixir, Erlang, or similar functional languages (e.g., Haskell, Clojure, F#)
- Familiarity with full stack frameworks like Phoenix or Ruby on Rails
- Basic experience with HTML/CSS and modern JavaScript or TypeScript
- Interest in resilient, fault-tolerant system design and distributed systems
- Strong written and oral communication skills and aptitude for working across disciplines
- Enjoys debugging and problem solving
- A strong bias towards understanding how things work rather than accepting the status quo
- Familiarity with Elixir and OTP concepts including GenServers, supervision trees, or the Actor model
- Familiarity with React or similar modern frontend frameworks
- Exposure to databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
- Exposure to testing frameworks or practices in any language
- Interest in real-time or game engine backends
- Familiarity with authentication concepts such as OAuth2 or role-based access controls
COMPENSATION
- Base Salary: $28/hour
