What is the General Counsel role?

The General Counsel will be responsible for independently overseeing all legal matters at CopilotIQ, including risk management, contract negotiations, and intellectual property. As the sole legal expert, this individual will play a key role in shaping CopilotIQ’s legal strategy to align with business objectives and will work closely with leadership to support our growth in the digital healthcare landscape. This position requires a proactive, business-minded attorney with a proven ability to navigate complex legal frameworks in a fast-paced environment.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop and implement legal strategies that support CopilotIQ’s business goals, ensuring compliance with relevant healthcare regulations, data privacy laws, and industry standards.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of contracts, including partnerships, vendor agreements, NDAs, and other commercial transactions.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks to protect the company’s assets and reputation, providing clear and actionable recommendations.
  • Partner with our outside regulatory counsel on healthcare regulatory matters, HIPAA compliance, data privacy, and security issues to ensure CopilotIQ’s digital healthcare offerings remain compliant and innovative.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on corporate governance matters, supporting board communications and ensuring alignment with best practices.
  • Oversee intellectual property matters, including trademark management, to protect CopilotIQ’s innovations.
  • Act as a key member of the leadership team, collaborating with cross-functional partners to provide sound legal guidance that aligns with CopilotIQ’s mission and growth strategies.

What you’ll bring

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and current bar membership.
  • 8+ years of legal experience, with a strong background in healthcare, technology, or related industries.
  • Proven experience in contract negotiation, corporate law, and risk management.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, data privacy regulations, and healthcare-related laws.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead CopilotIQ’s legal function as a strategic advisor.
