Nebius is looking for a community-focused professional to join our global startup team as a Startup Community Manager - Academia.
In this role, you will lead Nebius’ engagement across university-anchored startup ecosystems, including innovation labs, campus incubators, accelerators, entrepreneurship programs, and research-driven founder communities. Your focus is on building early, durable relationships with the technical talent and founders emerging from academic environments and ensuring Nebius is known and trusted at the earliest stages of startup formation.
You will design and execute high-impact programs and events, cultivate strategic academic partnerships, and work cross-functionally to support Nebius’ long-term startup ecosystem growth.

Your responsibilities will include:
Own Strategic Partnerships Across Accelerators & Research Institutions
- Build and manage relationships with leading global accelerator programs focused on AI-native startups.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with top research institutions and university-affiliated startup ecosystems where technical founders and academic spin-outs are formed.
- Serve as Nebius’ primary representative across these ecosystems, ensuring long-term strategic alignment with key partners.
- Maintain a global perspective on emerging founder pipelines to ensure Nebius is embedded in the most important early-stage ecosystems.
Lead University-Focused Events & Startup Ecosystem Activations
- Plan and execute startup-focused events including hackathons, founder workshops, technical bootcamps, demo days, and panels in partnership accelerator partners and research institutions.
- Represent Nebius on campus and at university-led startup and innovation events.
Measure and Optimize Community Impact
- Own and report on KPIs related to academic startup engagement, early-stage pipeline development, event outcomes, and program participation.
- Track performance across universities, programs, and activations to understand startup signal and long-term adoption potential.
Collaborate Across Nebius
- Partner closely with internal teams including Startups, Partnerships, Marketing, and DevRel teams to align accelerator and academic initiatives with Nebius’ startup strategy.
- Surface insights from accelerators and research ecosystems to inform long-term ecosystem development.
- Help shape how Nebius supports early-stage founders globally.
We expect you to have
- 3–5+ years of experience in startup ecosystem development, community building, partnerships, accelerator programs, or university innovation environments
- Experience working with accelerators or early-stage startup ecosystems, ideally within AI or deep tech.
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage strategic partnerships across complex ecosystems.
- Experience designing programs or initiatives that support technical founders and early-stage startups.
- Strong relationship management and organizational skills.
- Ability to operate independently in a global, fast-moving, cross-functional environment.
- A strong interest in AI and emerging technologies and supporting the next generation of founders.
It will be an added bonus if you have
- Background in developer communities, technical education, or startup ecosystem development.
- A track record of driving measurable outcomes through university community engagement and partnerships.
- Familiarity with AI infrastructure, cloud computing, or developer tools, or the ability to ramp quickly on technical concepts.
Compensation
We offer competitive salaries, ranging from $150k - $185k OTE (On Target Earnings) - Market adjusted for UK candidates.
