Success in this role requires a mix of technical expertise, consulting skills, stakeholder influence, and the ability to transfer knowledge effectively.
High-level skills and experience

  • Strong consultative mindset with a point-of-view on analytics best practices, frameworks, and governance.
  • Proven ability to implement marketing analytics solutions end-to-end (strategy, tagging, configuration, reporting).
  • Deep understanding of data security, privacy regulations, and compliance with legal and governance standards (PWG, GDPR, etc.).
  • Ability to teach and upskill client teams, enabling internal maintenance and evolution of analytics systems.
  • Strong business acumen to connect analytics tracking with marketing and business objectives.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for technical documentation, stakeholder presentations, and reporting.
  • Analytical and strategic thinking to develop solutions aligned with business goals.
  • Ability to work proactively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and issue resolution skills.

Expected tasks and responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a product tagging strategy within Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
  • Instrument GA4 and GTM to track user behavior, conversion events, and product-specific actions.
  • Configure GA and GTM setups for secure, accurate, and compliant data collection.
  • Verify and document data security best practices, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational guidelines.
  • Set up data storage configurations to enable downstream ingestion into a data warehouse.
  • Build and configure recurring reporting solutions for Go-To-Market and Product teams.
  • Create and maintain custom dashboards and reports aligned to business KPIs.
  • Administer Google Analytics accounts including user access and permissions management.
  • Provide hands-on training, guidance, and documentation to the CLS team for ongoing maintenance.
  • Deliver monthly performance reports summarizing key analytics insights.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues related to tagging, tracking, or reporting.
  • Document and deliver updated tracking codes as new products, features, or platforms are introduced.

Qualifications
We are looking for individuals with the following qualifications, skills, and experiences:

  • Experience consulting with internal marketing, product, and data teams to drive analytics strategy and execution.
  • Understanding of data security, privacy policies, and governance standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing Analytics, Web Design, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (required).
  • Google Analytics certifications preferred (e.g., GAIQ, GA4 Certification).
  • Strong track record of independently delivering tagging strategies and training internal teams for operational sustainability.
  • Familiarity with integrating analytics data into larger data ecosystems (preferred).
  • Strong project management and documentation skills.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
