GOS Senior Finance ManagerJob Description Summary
Provide leadership and supervision to Finance and Accounting team members, and deliver strategic partnership with operations and clients through sound judgment and discretion in applying accounting principles to day-to-day processes and functions. Assess team and department efficiencies to make improvement recommendations where necessary. The Senior Client Finance Manager role is expected to provide guidance to all levels across the account and provides strategic solutions.Job Description
Essential Job Duties:
- Oversee Finance delivery for a strategic client
- Develop productive, supportive relationships with key stakeholders (financial leadership, client team, and operations partners)
- Review team members' financial reporting to ensure quality, timeliness, audit compliance and assess competencies
- Manage team compliance with department SOC 1 audit controls; approve banking or financial transactions, schedules and reports in accordance with best practice policy and procedures
- Monitor account health and other metrics, recommending remediation as needed
- Direct new scope onboarding by coordinating with account leadership and clients
- Assess team/department workflows and policies to recommend or implement improvements in operating efficiencies and effectiveness; provide oversight to ensure effective implementation
- Manage team performance, available capacity, and training needs through conducting one-on-one meetings, team meetings and addressing deficiencies timely and professionally
- Develop direct reports through goal setting, conducting mid-year and year-end performance reviews and delivering timely and meaningful performance feedback, while maintaining quality results and performance
- Work with leadership team to implement department goals and objectives, lead department projects and provide essential Client Accounting committee involvement
- Assist with pricing of new scope or share of wallet
- Manage corporate P/L accounting (including month-end, AR/AP, budget, forecasting) activities related to client and C&W Corporate, with performance analysis and insight
- Lead FP&A and accounting for Facilities capital and operating projects
- Perform other related duties as required or requested
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Leads/Assigns/Delegates tasks to Client Finance Managers, Sr. Client Accountants, Client Accountants, and/or Interns
- Provide guidance and recommend actions to project team to complete work within client requirements
- Provides solutions to routine/complex problems
- Direct reports may include Client Finance Managers, Sr. Client Accountants, Client Accountants, Accounts Payable Accountants and/or Interns
Education/Experience/Training:
- College degree in Finance or Accounting preferred
- CPA/CMA preferred
Work Experience:
- Requires eight to fifteen years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2+ years of people management experience preferred
- Specialized Knowledge/Skills – Strong knowledge of Yardi and Workday software preferred; Strong MS Office Proficiency (targeting Excel, PowerPoint); Procure to Pay Process knowledge; Financial reporting for capital and operating facilities projects preferred; Strong internal and external customer service, time management and organizational skills; Exceptional delegation skills with the ability to be a hands-on contributor and take initiative; Ability to train, mentor and coach others effectively; Results oriented with strong sense of urgency; Leadership experience and demonstrated accountability skills
