We're looking for a full-time, experienced Graphic Designer to be a part of the Product Management Parchment team. The Graphic Designer is responsible for creating and designing a wide variety of new and existing academic related graphics for various internal departments as well as external marketing collateral for domestic and international audiences. The successful candidate will have solid knowledge in design fundamentals, branding, typography and file optimization, with experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Create new or update existing academic graphics (such as transcripts, diplomas, certificates, etc.) for various clients and audiences.
- Design and build a wide variety and high volume of cross-platform file types and images efficiently.
- Create and set up files for use on press in a print facility.
- Expected to help shape and work within existing creative direction while following standards and brand guidelines.
- Must take responsibility for fulfilling creative project direction, goals, and requirements.
- Consistent archive and file version management.
- Copywriting, editing, and proofreading to produce accurate and high-quality work.
- Compress and optimize files while maintaining a high resolution.
- Troubleshoot various image problems to provide solutions, autonomously.
- Create and/or design templates and documentation.
- Independently manage personal workload and service desk ticket queue using Jira Service Desk.
- Assist Member Consulting and Member Services departments with daily graphics needs while maintaining a sense of urgency.
- Assist the Marketing team with brand management, external campaigns, promotional pieces, presentation decks, logos, infographics, and other various marketing materials for domestic and international markets (digital & print).
- Miscellaneous external and internal graphic design projects (digital & print).
What You Will Need To Know/Have:
- Basic computer skills in both Mac and PC environments.
- Solid knowledge of design fundamentals, branding, typography, and file types.
- Familiar with current design trends, tools, and best practices in both print and digital design.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, and InDesign) Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Google Apps Suite.
- A graphic design degree or diploma from an accredited art/technical college is preferred.
- Great interpersonal skills; excellent verbal and written communication with a drive to collaborate.
- Dedicated work ethic and strong personal attributes that include teamwork, professionalism, organization, responsiveness, and attention to detail.
- Can work independently in a remote environment, as well as cross-functionally with different departments.
- Receive feedback gracefully, provide constructive critique to fellow designers, and be willing to push themselves to grow every day.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and new technologies is essential.
- Can multitask and work with a sense of urgency on daily production updates and adjustments.
- Prior experience in a prepress/print environment, as well as using Slack and Jira, are a plus.
