Corporate Accounting Revenue Assurance team is looking for a highly skilled, motivated accounting professional and a dynamic leader with a demonstrated drive for synthesizing complex information, cross-functional collaboration and people development.
The Corporate Accounting Reporting and Analysis team focuses on defining revenue recognition policy across products and programs, enhancing and consulting on system integration and design, researching GAAP revenue recognition questions and analyzing and reporting consolidated financial results.
This position provides a unique enterprise-wide view of the company from the financial core, high visibility to management across our business groups as well as a work with a great team of professionals experienced in technical accounting. as we blaze a new trail for revenue recognition and reporting at Microsoft!
As a Group Finance Manager, you will work the team responsible for revenue policies for products across Microsoft with a focus on technical revenue recognition accounting for new product and program offerings, system integration and design, and strategic and complex business deals custom contracts.

Responsibilities
- Work with technical GAAP experts within the team and finance/business leads across the company to understand the economic and accounting implications of strategic deals and partnerships
- Get a deep understanding of Microsoft commercial contracts to facilitate proactive consultations on complex GAAP accounting impacts
- Document accounting positions and memos for complex deal review in simple and clear style and be a liaison with external audit teams
- Prepare and present training to business partners
- Provide expertise to special projects and other ad hoc requests

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Business, Accounting /Finance, or related field AND 6+ years accounting or finance experience
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting /Finance, or related field AND 7+ years accounting or finance experience
- OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 10-12 years related work experience, preferably a mix of tech companies and public accounting
- Demonstrated US GAAP knowledge and experience, with emphasis on ASC 606
- Significant experience in software, technology industry a plus
- Advanced business degree a plus
- CPA or equivalent preferred
- Ability to collaborate and be comfortable dealing with ambiguity, influencing across multiple complex organization, and creating effecting partnerships; ability to effectively scopes accounting issues, apply the relevant accounting knowledge base and make decisions with conviction; make the complex simple
- Superb business partnering and cross-group collaboration skills, with executive leadership audiences
- Proven financial and analytical, written and oral communications and presentation of data skills
- Be a self-starter, well organized, adaptable, and able to multi-task and work well under pressure
Accounting IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $115,000 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $146,200 - $219,200 per year.
