Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and strategic product leader to oversee DroneDeploy Aerial, our largest and fastest-growing product line. This includes owning the end-to-end web and mobile experience for flight planning, aerial data capture, processing, and analysis. You will be instrumental in defining our mobile and web strategy, prioritizing high-impact customer problems, and delivering intuitive, AI-powered workflows that drive business outcomes. This role is an opportunity to scale a market-leading product while shaping the future of autonomous drone operations, AI-driven aerial insights, and automation workflows.


Work Environment

> Work Hours: Typically Monday - Friday, 9am - 6pm PST, (subject to change).

> Work Model: 100% remote position (work from home). 

> Work Travel: Monthly domestic or international travel for client engagements, training sessions, and company events.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the strategy and roadmap for DroneDeploy Aerial, focusing on aerial data capture, flight automation, processing, and analysis.
  • Ensure cross-product coordination and alignment, working closely with the Ground, AI, and Platform product areas to deliver a seamless user experience.
  • Engage deeply with customers, conducting job site visits, interviews, and market research to understand their needs and shape product decisions.
  • Anticipate and mitigate risks by staying ahead of industry trends, drone regulations, and emerging technologies, ensuring resilience against market, regulatory, and technological shifts.
  • Drive revenue growth for Aerial, iterating on pricing, packaging, and adoption strategies in collaboration with Sales and Marketing.
  • Drive execution across web and mobile experiences, partnering with Engineering and Design to build intuitive, high-impact workflows.
  • Track product success and iterate, leveraging data, customer feedback, and competitive insights to refine and enhance the product.
  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of the product, ensuring successful launch, customer acquisition, adoption, engagement, and long-term improvements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience of building SAAS products.
  • Proven track record of owning & scaling full stack products and features with measurable success.
  • Deep customer empathy, you thrive on field research and customer engagement.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management, you excel in cross-functional collaboration.
  • Technical acumen, you can work effectively with engineers on flight automation, photogrammetry, and AI-driven insights.
  • Data-driven decision-making, you leverage metrics, experimentation, and user research to validate product choices.
  • Experience using UI/UX tools such as Figma, Sketch, InVision, Zeplin.io
  • Proven experience in people management, including hiring, mentoring, and developing high-performing product teams, with a focus on fostering collaboration and continuous growth. 
  • Drone Certification: For this position, obtaining a USA-Part 107 license is essential within the first 90 days of employment and must be maintained for the entirety of tenure in the role.
