Group Product Manager, SmarterDenials

Role

We're looking for a Group Product Manager to own, shape, and scale SmarterDenials — a game-changing AI solution supporting hospitals to appeal their denials more quickly for improved financial outcomes. In this role, you'll lead the evolution of the core SmarterDenials platform while actively supporting the expansion of our broader denials product line.

You'll deeply understand user workflows, refine platform capabilities, and ruthlessly prioritize initiatives that deliver measurable business outcomes. You'll collaborate with engineering, data science, design, and client success leadership to scale the existing product — and work cross-functionally to help stand up adjacent products within the denials space. Reporting to the Director of Product, you'll have the autonomy to execute while staying aligned on market trends and growth strategy.

**This role is fully remote within the US**

What You’ll Do

  • Own and drive the product vision and roadmap for the SmarterDenials teams - Appeal Writer, Management, and expansions — prioritizing initiatives that drive measurable clinical and commercial outcomes.
  • Hire, coach, and develop a team of Product Managers, raising the bar on craft, customer empathy, and execution across the group.
  • Deeply understand the SmarterDx user and buyer market, including payer behavior, denial patterns, and RCM workflows.
  • Engage customers to gather feedback, identify friction points, and surface opportunities for high-impact product improvements.
  • Define, track, and report on key success metrics to measure product performance, adoption, and business impact.
  • Support PMs leading a cross-functional team of engineers, data scientists, and designers through the full product development lifecycle.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 1–2+ years in a management role
  • A track record of scaling an established product while also contributing to new product development or 0-to-1 initiatives.
  • 3+ years of experience in healthtech, ideally in RCM, denials management, coding, or B2B clinical workflows.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills across engineering, data science, and UX — you know how to lead without authority.
  • Experience managing both external customers and internal stakeholders (Customer Success, Implementations, Sales).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; you can distill complexity into crisp narratives for both technical and executive audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with payer-specific denial logic, appeal workflows, or coding/clinical documentation products.
  • Background in software engineering, data engineering, or a quantitative field.
  • Proficiency in SQL or comfort with data analysis tools.
  • Experience launching a net-new product at a growth-stage healthtech company.
Compensation
  • $185K to $215K salary

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
